Re: racing seats opinion

Seats protect you in a crash and could potentially save your life, don't buy the cheap eBay brands or the knock-offs sold on eBay.

Hope it is for a non-street vehicle as well. I've read some scary threads. You have to go the whole 9-yards or not at all.

Re: racing seats opinion

I love my Corbeau seats, but make sure you get their sliding brackets as well as their harnesses. Corbeau harnesses are built to bolt into the stock location for the rear seat belts also, so you don't have to worry about those scary spine compression stories. You will pretty much lose your rear seats, but at least you are safe.

If you wanna check some out: http://www.motorsportseats.com/index.html the guy is located in Bloomington. When I was there with a friend he probably had 25 seats in his basement to try out. Nice to see how they feel prior to buying one.

Re: racing seats opinion

If I had any money I would have gone with some Corbeau seats. My buddy has some and they are mighty comfy on long trips. I however are mighty broke so I went with a Kirkey.

I don't know if I would trust an ebay seat in an accident like stated earlier, accidents are a scary thing with cheap parts.

I like Megan for things like exhaust components, but when it comes to safety go with one of the major name brands.

Kracka's right. Also, the better quality stuff FEELS better. I really noticed a difference between the corbeau's and the sparco's I have now.

I'd get some used Evo9 recaros if I could find some that weren't overly priced. Otherwise, there's some pretty cool newer looking recaros out there. Recaros are way $$$ though along with companies like Bride...

Re: racing seats opinion

you can go with any evo III+ recaro. evo III-VI are all the same style they are like the honda type r recaros just in better colors. they changed the style in the evo VII. You can pick up older evo seats for dirt cheap.

I picked up my evo III fronts for 350.00 shipped from japan

Everything I have heard about Corbeau's are nothing short of awesome. If I ever replace my seats down the road, I'll be getting a Forza probably.

Re: racing seats opinion

One "off-brand" that I've always heard excellent reviews about are DAD seats. If you're looking to save a couple bucks, I'd say at least research into those.
