haha. You know it! I can't wait until next Summer when I have all the mods on my car...track days should be a total blast.

I have driven in 7 MN winters so far, never bought snow tires, never got into an accident, and never got stuck.
I've had a couple AWD cars and always had all-season tires on them. If the BMW had 200hp then I'd be surprised. It's just not the same as owning an Evo. The X actually comes with an obnoxious sticker on the driver's door warning you to not use the stock tires in the winter.

I was thinking a set of Blizzak LM-60's since there is a Firestone a block away from me. Anybody had them before?

Re: A 2nd or winter car

I wouldn't drive a coilover car through the winter. I've heard they get all messed up from all the sludge/salt, I can see them being very hard to adjust after a winter or two here. But I drove 3 winters now on my Talon and a single set of winter tires, but up until now it's had just lowering springs.

I probably won't drive it much at all this winter if I still have it. I'd rather drive around with RWD just to save the coilovers in the Talon.

What do you call summer tires? I figured mitsu was smart enough to put all season tires on the ("ralley inspired") car but I guess not. Never had special tires, never had an issue. If my 1800 pound, skinny tired car drives fine, most others will do fine.

Guess AWD wasn't enough to give the EVO traction on asphalt, had to go with sticky tires??? Doesn't make sense to me but I suppose there is some reason for it. I will have to check his tires next time I see them.

I still have the coilovers in the box and waiting until Spring for the install was something that I was considering.
