I can tell you from first hand experience that they really dont care about teching the spectator drags. You guys are racing for trophies, so there isn't any real incentive to tech. They have a lot more cars to worry about in the regular classes.

I think they are going to start doing a visual check now that the new "outlaw drags" are starting up. If your car looks shady you will be bumped into outlaws and have to race Mike "The Hack" Sellner.
I also live in a heavily patrolled section of Coon Rapids. Let me know if you still got it lying around.
