Re: Upgrade to vBulletin 3.8.1 complete!
I'm not sure if it's just me, but the site seems to be extremely slow now. All other sites I go to load up quickly, but this one is just real slow.

Re: Upgrade to vBulletin 3.8.1 complete!
Also, the shoutbox freezes on me after about 1 minute of use. I have to reload the site about every minute for it to work.
This is on Internet Explorer 6.0 at my work.

Weird, I'll try this on a box I have at work. I cannot seem to replicate these IE issues a couple people have mentioned. Install firefox or update that old stanky thing

FYI Scheides, this is on on my work laptop. Everything works fine at home on Firefox. Daddy Westinghouse doesn't want us upgrading to IE7 on our work laptops due to some VPN issues it causes. And as for Firefox, they don't want us installing that. They get a bit anal when it comes to loading any outside programs onto our work computers. Hell I'm still suprised this site hasn't been blocked by them So I'm stuck with IE6 here at work. And with IE6, the site is loading slow, and things freeze quite often.

Re: Upgrade to vBulletin 3.8.1 complete!
I dunno if you were doing some quick fixes or something, but last night at about 12:30 the site completely froze, no new pages would load for me. But I came back about 15 mins later and everything was fine.

Re: Upgrade to vBulletin 3.8.1 complete!
IE7 still drops the shoutbox down to 1 line sometimes, not all the time like it did before. I'll add more if I can figure out when it does it.

Is there anyway to change the amt of time the SB automatically makes you idle. Seems like I click on my other tab and I come back like a min or 2 later and I'm idle. Get's annoying after a little while.

I'm not sure there's much I can do man, I'm sorry. It's just the shoutbox, the rest of the site works fine?

Nightly backup. It used to happen at 11pm and I bumped it back to 12:30 or so. It's a necessary evil. Yes I could do it at 4am, but there's so much data (besides just this site) to back up, i need the time between the data dump and the morning 'regular hours' to copy it all off-site for backup.

Let me know if it still does it. I changed a bunch of sh1t around again.

Yup, that was annoying. I bumped it to 500 seconds, from 180.
With all of this said, please understand everyone that there's only so much that I can do with the shoutbox. It's out-of-the-box software, I didn't pay for it (its free), and frankly this is a forum, not a chat window I'll do what I can though.

Re: Upgrade to vBulletin 3.8.1 complete!
In general the site just loads very slowly. From the time I type in the address, to the moment the site is loaded, it's usually a good 20 seconds. While other sites (and this site before the change took place) load in 2 seconds.
I don't spend much time on here at work though, so not a huge deal for me. I'm not bitching, just reporting what I've noticed like you asked.

Re: Upgrade to vBulletin 3.8.1 complete!
Not sure if its been mentioned but this site will stop loading and freeze randomly between pages and give me the screen like it cant connect to the internet.. its getting really annoying now. and I cant get this site back up til I close it and reload it all over again.

Ya man I just cannot figure out what it is with this upgrade that would have induced this for you. If you try jumping straight to a sub forum, is it still slow?

Re: Upgrade to vBulletin 3.8.1 complete!
I'm using the newest version of internet explorer. And when I go from the main page and click the new posts button or vice versa is when it will just freeze and show that it's loading. It will do that for like 5 mins til it says "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage." Then I gotta close the page and re-open it and it works fine until it does this again..
