i just want it painted, i do all the molding and sanding by myself.....

We wouldn't have a problem with you doing that, but the thing with that is there could possibly be issues with materials compatibility. Another thing with you doing all your own prep work, is that no shop would offer you any kind of warranty for the paint job. So once it's out the door, if anything happens to it, it's not the shop's responsibility to repair it.

Went to the Maaco in Osseo yesterday and got a quote of $2700 for an entire repaint. What I would consider minor bodywork, no rust repair, base-clear, and wet sanding and buffing.

I stopped at a collision center in Lakeville and the guy told me 4-5 thousand. Yikes.

Should I bring it to your place in Coon Rapids for an estimate?
