throtle bodies

Im running the Q45 with DSMLINK. you just have to wire the Q45 TPS into the stock TPS harness. I had to rescale the TPS signal with dsm link to make it read 100% throttle. and use the simulate idle switch since the q45 doesnt have one.

This throttlebody is very streetable. driving is just fine. ide controle is kind of a pain in the ass since you only have an adjustment screw that moves the butterfly Like a caburator.

How would one know that they NEED to upgrade their throttle body to something larger? I'm still on a 1G TB, but what signs or indications might one notice that tell then it is now becoming a restriction?

If you measure the pressure before and after the TB and find a huge pressure gradient at WOT.

Definetly not a proven, worthwhile upgrade though. Even that lil black 660whp civic hatch running around still uses the stock b-series 58mm TB.

Cool. I planned on just using my 1G TB until it falls apart. But I also don't feel like drilling holes and adding some sort of pressure transducers before and after the TB just for this. Is there a way to check these pressures with just the normal logging parameters that DSMLink is able to log? Or do you have to use some external sensors?

Thank you, that is exactly what I wanted to know. The tb came today with the tps and pigtail looks even better than I thought. You guys are right and a 1g probably would have been sufficent but since I was going to make a intake manifold I figured why not be sure. Thanks alot.

Mustang TP? Do you have any idle control?

I'm asking because I'm just about ready to start on my new intercooler set-up and the TB is one area I haven't made up my mind on yet.

Do a Q45 if you are going bigger. They don't break nearly as easily as most of the mustang ones.

Does anybody have a good pic of the Q45 installed on a 2g? I'm concerned about the space requirements. I'm not even sure if I need to worry about going bigger than my 1G tb.

I would have just used the stock tb, but sometimes having the cart pull the horses is a good idea.

Is there any one that has used the q45 and hated it soo much that they have switched back to something more common? Cause it really doesn't look like it will be very difficult to make work.
