You are looking in the wrong places if you can find a tap in that common of a size. Look in the yellow pages under machine supplies and start calling. Just like auto shops call parts stores for parts, machine shops can call suppliers for tooling. At the last machine shop I worked at we always had a wait a day for our vendor to make the trip down from the TC area because there werent many in southern minnesota.

If you really cant find anything Sears sells a thread repair kit that contains that size. The only thing is that it is a complete kit and not really cheap.
