automatic transmission issue with Subaru...

just wondering if anyone can help me out... 86 gl-10 Turbo FWD A/T. I pulled motor, did tbelts and headgaskets, then put it back in the car. The transmission was left in the car, and the torque converter was still attached to the motor. Unknowingly i just slid the motor into the transmission, and well the tq. converter didnt seat properly, and the car diddnt move at all. Pulled motor back out, only to find that the end of the 3rd transmission shaft (smallest one of the three shafts), twisted off when i started the car.

My question is how do I replace the shaft? Do i take the whole transmission apart? Anyone work on these before? The Middle sized shaft slides out of the transmission, but the other 2 shafts dont. I believe the smallest shaft is the transmission pump drive shaft. HELP!!

ps, i have posted on ultimatesubaru.net and no one has really given me a goood answer.
