Exactly. Just do it. I'd even have them turned, a lot of DSMers slack on basic maintenance which could get you in trouble.
Even if the same thing happens to you, and you rip apart a bearing; who cares and pull all the bearings out and have them replaced. I bet you don't know the last time they were.
