Working in body shops all my life I have taken off more of those than I care to say. The only way that we ever had any luck is using a heat gun to heat the film (careful not to burn the paint) and peel it off they come off hard and in peices.
then you are going to have to spend some time usng 3m adhesive remover you should be able to get it at carquest or napa. usualy you have to soak rags in adhesive remover and let them sit on the adhesive a couple of minutes then carefully use a rag or bondo spreader to take the sofened adhesive off.
