good place to get metric nuts/bolts?

Where are you guys buying metric nuts/bolts locally? I'm not talking one or two bolts or extreme quantities but like a dozen or so.
First I went to menards, complete waste of time. Then home depot, they had enough for what I needed but @ $1.25 a piece for m10x1.25, rather not. Didn't bother going to any auto part stores. Red rooster has a good selection of fasteners/bolts but not enough on hand and I really wasn't in the mood to drive there to confirm that.

Ace hardware is usually decent. Fastenal is the only place around that will get you a better price though. Everyone else is going to rape you.

in yuma, lowes had a huge quantity of them. I dunno about the lowes here. But if it's anything like the one in yuma, then that is the place to go. They only went up to grade 8 though.

Most parts stores have a Dorman hardware case. A lot of times the parts guy either doesn't know it is there (sometimes hidden in back), or doesn't want to dig through it. If they are cool, they will let you look through it to find what you need.

Most auto stores have really expensive prices, the best bet are hardware stores like hank, ace, true value. Sometimes you can find a huge lot of nuts bolts washers in a package online- ebay and other sites..

I know it had already been said, but Fastenal is definately the way to go.

I had to order some really big long bolts that nobody else had anything close to, and 3 different fastenal stores in the area had many of them in stock.

Re: good place to get metric nuts/bolts?

Thanks guys. I had time today to make it to Ace hardware, they have a great selection of metric but somewhat limited in sizes for there bulk stuff, still better than home depot and menards. I'm gonna try to make it to fastenal sometime.
