Best old time arcade games of all time.

This will probably show my age some but what do you feel were the best arcade games of all time? I hope this thread isn't a repeat. I was at my friends last and he has a regualar arcade console with the orginal screen. It's a M.A.M.E. system. I don't remember what it stands for but you take out the board inside and use a regular pc. He has hundreds of the orginal ROMS on a CD from the real games. The video and sounds are the real thing because it's the original ROM. Anyway- I got to playing Galaxian last night for almost 2 hours(not one continuous game). I love that game. I was pretty dam good at it back in the day. I'd rather play these games than Xbox or PS2 anyday. Hell, i don't even own those and probably never will.

Edit: BTW I have PC emulators for just about every game console ever made, as well as thousands of old school game ROMS.Anyone want to play some old school shit, let me know.

Yeah Asteroids rocks! That was the same era as Space Invaders. I still have an old original Atari 2600 in storage.

Galega is just kick ass. I'm glad i'm not alone on that one. I could play that for hours.

I've had my share of computer/game systems over the years, starting with the Commodore 64. Shit! I even had an old Radio Shack TRS-80 with 16k of memory and a cassette recorder for data storage. I used to collect old computers but i sold most on ebay. I still have an old Apple IIe with dual 5 1/4" floppy drives. Those used be well over $1500. I got for $40 on ebay. I've been into computers and electronics since about the early to mid 80's. In the 20 years, it's unbelievable how much has changed. The computer that you guys are using would have taken up the size of several rooms years ago. The first computer i built was 4.77Mhz/8088 processor. Now we're well into the Ghz's. What's to come in the next 20 years?

Those old games are still my favorites, I have the CD with all the original games on it as well, just no time to play it. We're building a house right now and my plan is to have a full eighties style game room in the lower level complete with the original stand-up games from back in the day. I've already got the pool table, just need the games, a CD jukebox and a neon sign that says "Piccadilly Circus".

Goat Blower- let me know if you ever need some help. My good friend is a big MAME freak. One console can be the entire arcade. He's building a new console that is gonna have every control on it, buttons, spinner, joystick, trackball.

Oh yeah, my favorites were Zaxxon, Tron, Lunar Lander, Sinistar and that video disc game with the medievel knight, can't remember the name off-hand.

The game room at the amusement park out by the Shootout has a lot of these old games including the old black and white screened game where you twist the throttle and jump vans with your motorcycle. Now that one's old.
