Re: My next toy?
Fun project, not cheap but worth the time, effort and money from the looks of it.

Re: My next toy?
I like it. I would put in a 4g64 or...a twin turbo 502 big block.

Re: My next toy?
Unreal, why would you put a 4G64 in it? It was made to hold an LS1, arguably one of the best motors made for basic power to date.
If that car was mine, itd get Heads, cam, intake, and longtubes. Maybe build the motor for a little more compression and walla, you have a 2300lb 550ish RWHP car (On pump gas) that is actually pretty damn reliable.

Re: My next toy?
dude that car must be soooo damn wide. cuz corvettes are already like the widest thing ever and it looks like that kit adds about another 4 inches on both sides.
Awesome ride though. Does it have a name?

Re: My next toy?
That car looks sweeter every time I see it. I think a high revving small displacement V8 would be awesome in there.

Re: My next toy?
Yep, my plan is a destroked LS2 that will rev to 8500. The problem with the porsche tranny is that the best variant will take 500 lb-ft of torque stock, fully built it will take 650 ft-lbs. The destroked LS2 would be 4.8l. Throw twin turbos' on that (50 trims) and you should be able to get 700-750 whp and 600-650 lb-ft of torque on pump gas. Put is some big cams and you might be able to run even more hp, but stay at the same torque. The whole project would run about $65k, and that includes an aftermarket tranny that would take basically unlimited torque (twin turbo LS7 anyone?). You can build the basic version for $40k.
The car is actually 1.5" narrower than a C5 in the front and the same as one in the back. Just think of a C5 that looks better and weighs 1000 lbs less! They have a lot of carbon fiber on it, rear diffuser, rear wing, front chin spoiler, and a bunch in the interior.
The car is called the GTM Mulsanne, made by FFR. They have been making cobra and GT40 kits for years.

Re: My next toy?
Not to be a nay-sayer, but aren't the majority of kit cars HORRIBLY unrealiable? Not just in the engine/power train (as it seems reliable in this case) but body panels, fitment, 'refinement', etc. For that much dinero, there seems to be a lot up in the air still...
...Then again, I'm probably missing something. Either way, it seems awesome!

Re: My next toy?
FFR is known for high quality kits. It is just like regular manufacter's, you can get a Kia or a Cadillac. The crappy lamborghini kits gave kit cars a bad name. The other big thing about quality is putting it together. You put it together, so if you take shortcuts, it will suck. If you do a good job, you will get a good car out of it.

Re: My next toy?
Go with the K1 Attack. The K1 IMO looks much better.
