Name These Parts!!!

Not sure where to post this but this is better then nothing. I need to know what this first piece does and where it connects to. Its part of a 1G thermastat housing and Im thinking it has to do with emisions or something I have no clue. I would like to know what attaches to it and wehre it goes. As for the secound one it came off of my 2G intake manifold and some vacume lines were attached to it the numbers on there are K5T48294 AND 7715 those might be useful. But if someone knows where they go that would be wonderful.

If it is on the thermostat housing and has vacuum lines attatched, it is the thermostatic switch and is part of the EGR system. It also ties in with the purge canister, if you got rid of the emissions equipment, it is no longer required.

Thats what I thought. Do I just put like a plug in place of it? Anyone know what the secound pic is of. One line went I think to the EGR and the other to the intake manifold(not 100%on those). If im removing that stuff do i just leave it pluged in? Also I found this little piece that I would like to know what it does. It is just attached to the intake manifold. Heres a pic...
