 this is just stupid. i've had the car for not even 5 days, and i've been pulled over twice. the first time was understandable... driving home from work and my headlights didn't work (both bulbs were burnt out), nice cop, let me follow him all the way to my house to make sure i got home safely. then tonight i was driving up in anoka from the SA on main st to my friends house and this jackass of a cop pulls me over for no reason. says i don't have a front license plate, i just bought the car 4 days ago and he expects me to have a front license plate when the old owner didn't give me one?? then he gets me on no proof of insurance, I JUST bought the car! how can i have proof of insurance? it wasn't even that he gave me the citation, he was a complete dick about it. sorry, i had to vent.. asshole of a cop.

Just remember that you can contest any ticket that you get. All you need is the proper documentation and all charges would be dropped.

I realize you didn't get a citation this time, but just remember that in the future. You can go to the courthouse and show them proof of insurance (transferred from your old car to your new car), proof of registering for license plates, etc. Remember, you are not guilty until you either admit or your are found guilty by a judge.

true it does suck that you have to go in and show it all, but it beats not showin up and paying for it. i got pulled for speeding, the guy was nice about it but i had an expired license and no proof of insurance, he just told me that id have to pay the ticket but that i could get all the rest docked off if i went to the court. i pinch pennies so it didnt bother me.

I got pulled over for a semaphore (whatever the hell that was), but it was for running a red light. Isnt it still legal to go when the light is still orange? She said that I turned on a No-Turn on Red, then I went back to check it out and there wasnt one sign up on any of those corners. She was a B**** about it also. I was being really nice too and she just had to be an A**. I'm gonna have to call to take her to court. Do you guys think I'll win? The judge will most likely listen to the cop more just because she's the "COP," if I dont win, I'm gonna atleast be nice about it and see if I can get it off my record. I remembered her squad car number, so if I do lose, she's going to pay for just being so damn mean. I was pretty angry at the time and I really wanted to trash her car...haha.

You would be amazed at how many things you can get off of paying. With my integra I had last year, I got 7 tickets for stupid things and didn't have to pay for any of them. They were things like front plate, altered tail lights, for sale sign... In the talon, I got pulled over and got a fix-it ticket for my parking lights not working that I didn't have to pay a fine on, and I got a front plate ticket that I got out of. With the front plate ticket, I said when I got new plates, the person from AAA told me I didn't need to put a front plate on since my car didn't come with one or have a spot for one. He said " you were badly misinformed there. You can get off without one if it has collectors plates bot the car isn't old enough." He let me off.

Motorcycle cop pulls up next to me on UNI and says "Want to race?"
Me- "I don't think you would stand a chance."
Cop says "probably not" and drives off.

You're kinda lucky there. I hope Maplewood cops will be that easy on me, cause the female cop that pulled me over didnt really care if I took her to court. She said that they get paid time and a half for just going....I hope she doesnt show up. This if my first ticket ever too...so I'm gonna try really hard to get out of it.

That sounds like a reasonable excuse to pull you over tho... I'm sure it appeared as if someone was drunk behind the wheel.

A Ticket is actually by definition a "SUMMONS". You can chose to plead guilty by paying a fine, and avoiding trial. In your miranda rights, you ALWAYS have a right to a trial and court appointed attorney if you are arrested. Go to court, you will win.

Damn I am glad you people were occupying the cops tonight, I had a couple 130mph passes on 94 tonight. One Mustang GT (waste of time) and a Integra (even more of a waste of time). Fuck the cops. Except JDM.lol

Looking for drunks. I have got two tickets with the GVR4, one no proof of insurance, and one for tint. I just faxed in my proof of insurance and that one got dropped. For the tint ticket I peeled the tint off the front windows and took some pics on the digital cam and brought them into the hearing officer, she was nice and dropped it. So remember, innocent until proven guilty, and make them prove it. The cops are out to get you, but the people at the court house typically aren’t.

Well I just learned this but as part of buying a new used car you have insurance for the first 30 days you have it but you should get your insurance to cover it soon for :bs: reason like sway got pulled over for.
