Re: team ab drag race and street builds
My latest updates.
Andre car has a few bugs to work out and unfortunately will take a little more time before it is fully ready to be on the street.
My car had some bad throttle body leaks from the 70mm flange on the manifold, so I baught a new s90 tb. I still need to do a blt but it already seems to be acting much better. Time has just not been with me lately so I'm just putting it around giving it some break in miles as of now.
Last but not least I finally got around to finishing up Jessie's motor. Yes it has been on the back burner, but he's a flake lol. He will most likely start to add to the thread now as the ball is rolling. Here is a pic of the head on all fresh rebuilt with A1 headtuds and a compisite gasket. This car was fast as hell last year so we hope to add to that this year.
Oh and guys 2.4 is on gas 16psi with small 750cc inj I believe and runs strong.

Re: team ab drag race and street builds
i'm sofaking into myself I think i'll post about my car life some more lol. MEGA BUTTHURT time. had to order parts so my wheels don't cave in and suspension holds up today. very expensive. upper control arms, lower lateral arms,"wish those recalls were still good wtf" wheel bearing, and two front struts. Still have not had good enough fuel for boost yet, but damn the engine bay is gorgeous. I'm still hopeful we will all make pg2 and get booted off the track.

Re: team ab drag race and street builds
Currently Andre car is at 30.5 psi with 9deg up top. Just a very baseline tune as I haven't had much time on it. Pulls extremely hard through 3rd and 4th. Airflow is around 70lb/min around 7500rpm. Weird thing is how tight the plug gap is getting as we have experienced spark blow out a few different times. We plan to try and take it as close to 40psi as we can. Should make for a very powerful settup.

Re: team ab drag race and street builds
update on my car. this is unfortunately not a fun update for me. i now have a few hundred miles on my car and there are a few problems i need to figure out. I will be working on the car this weekend and here are the problems.
First I have an oil leak or two. I noticed what looks to be the ofh leaking where the adapter is for the turbo feed. It seems loose in the hole as i can basically turn it both ways. the adapter just seems like a crappy design, i received it this way.
second i have a coolant leak that seems to be from one of the turbo lines. not sure as i can't see it, will know more when its in the air.
third i have vibration under throttle, feels like its by my feet so I'm pretty sure the drivers axle is the problem.
last and the worst is my new gates belt is being chewed up bad. on the engine side it is chewed on the outside. my guess is the oil pan bolt or the kingly crank trigger. the drivers side of the belt is also fraying and chewed on the inside of the belt. who knows, oil pump? not sure yet. the belt does seem to favor the drivers side of my cam gears. one big thing i noticed when installing the crank pulley was it didn't want to go on or come off. seems like the crank was warped or maybe it took a smash. I seriously hope this was not the case as boomdeeze seems to be a good guy,but you never know these days. i will be pulling the oil pan also to see if anything is out of the ordinary. I do have a spare crank so if it's an issue I will have to decide what to do at this point. I am exhausted as I have tied up a lot of time and money in this car so not %100 the route I will take if something is really messed up, but I will keep everyone posted on the car.

Take a day off, constant wrenching can get you burned out.
Hope for the best and see what it is. Good luck to you.

Re: team ab drag race and street builds
Thanks for the support guys. I have actually not been working on my car as it did burn me out. Not fun to have dumb stuff happen to a project you put everything into. Instead I've been working on Andres car. It's fun to be tuning and driving a fast car again. We are getting him ready for Wednesday the 17th so he car run the car before pg2. I think for now we will leave it around 30-35 psi and work on his launch control and the timing down low to get that turbo spoolin.
Tomorrow I am going to begin to tear into my car with the intent of fixing problems. Again thanks for the support.

Re: team ab drag race and street builds
That sucks to hear, especially after recently painting the bay. I'm sure pulling that timing cover/components and scuffing up your fresh paint is the last thing you want to do. Keep at it man, this thing is going to be an animal at PG2!

Re: team ab drag race and street builds
Thanks bro wouldn't be so bad if this wasn't the fourth or fifth time in there lol. First time I set engine and trans in without the tob hahaha. Then had to lower for the fluidampr. Then I took the ofh off three times to port it more and more and also I had a modufied 7bolt timing cover that I replace with half of a 1g but who knows that's probly half the problem. I'll have to find a good 6bolt cover I assume.
I hope to be at pg2 also, I need a little revenge after last year. I really want to see the difference in this high compression 2.0 compared to my 2.4 last year.

Re: team ab drag race and street builds
I pulled the oil pan today and everything is perfect, so what a huge relief, but what was making noise and why is the timing belt being chewed up? well the next step was taking the cover off to find out. Bingo…the timing cover was almost cut in half by the timing belt. So i grabbed the belt and it honestly felt like i could just pull it off it was so slack. the tensioner is shot. I can't believe how lucky i am to catch this before it trashed the motor. I will order a new tensioner and i guess i may have to bit the bullet on a new timing cover unless i find a good used one soon.

Re: team ab drag race and street builds
no doubt. best part is my dumb ass throwing 13.5 psi at it randomly for two miles on the way to andre's house lol. i guess it was just my time to be fortunate. it literally could have gone at any time, hell even the next startup could have been it. Thanks for the support guys. I did get to have some fun today, i'm pretty sure I have andres car ready to hit the track wed.
