Wow, $700??? My dad realized how ridiculous priced these are here and I think he's going to start a small business selling them for about $70.

Re: Christmas gifts 2013

I bought a wicked lasers arctic when it came out they are nice looking but most of them are not actually 1watt lucky if they are 500mw and the quality of the stuff inside isn't very good. Mine ended up going shot, I found someone from on laserpointerforums.com to mod it for me he put in a new driver and added a huge aluminum heat sink and a brand new diode. When he metered the output it now puts out 2.7 watts. If anyone is looking for a laser go to the buy, sell, trade section of laserpointerforums.com and look around everything on there will be of much better quality then you will find almost anywhere else.

What would you use those lasers for? Can you attach them to a firearm? Or are you guys planning on blinding airplane pilots?

Usually for burning or engraving or if you wanted, yes defense I guess. Definitely not for anything sky pointed... Back to the OP I'm eager to hear how the smoker works too!

Thanks There is no way I could buy a new surly when they start at 1850.00
Had a short ride on it today. Need to rise the bars more. Also want to drill the rims to loose weight.

Drilled rims help a ton and so do some newer tires. 120 TPI and kevlar bead shave pounds. But those aren't cheap either. Just wait until you wear those down someday and find some online

Also if you need bar-mitts I might be able to help a little.

Re: Christmas gifts 2013

Nice smoker Goodhart. I wouldn't mind one myself. Brisket mmmmmm.

Cool seats for the Lotus Andrew.

The most notable item I got was a frequency drive for my Dake V16 band saw. It's a three phase saw and I have been starting it with a static phase converter, that method sucks. It will make it way better with this drive.

I also got a promotion at work the day before the Christmas break! Just being in school for the MBA is already paying off!

If you got the plug n play one it takes 15 minutes. I was looking at them too, but decided to skip it for $730. My seat warmers come on so fast that I can live with it, for now at least.
