I have a 98 gst with around 73000 miles on it. My question it should use synthetic oil or normal or a blend or what. Also what kind should I use (brand) and like a 10W30 or what. I did do a search and found out nothing.
Thanks,
Mike

Yeah, 5 quarts and it won't quite take all of it. You will get a lot of variations. DSMdude will say use Rotella T, most will say synthetic and some say cheap stuff is fine.

I say go with sythetic and see if it burns/leaks much. If it does go to a blend if not, stick with sythetic because it lives in the turbo better. I like Valvoline and Amsoil. Mobil 1 is good, but ticks badly in a lot of DSM's.

I like castrol Syntec becuase it doesnt leak as bad as mobile one and lifter tick is alot less noticeable.

Ive used 15w-40 all year long and in the winter the car starts fine even though the oil is a bit heavier.

Mobile 1 synthetic for your 2g. I would use 10-40 for the summer and 5-30 for the winter.
