Hello my name is Mike, i just picked up my new car on monday. after searching for my "dream" car for like 4 months i finally found one close to it. i have a 1998 Eclipse Spyder GS-T, it is black with tan interior(i wanted black with black interior but couldnt find one). it has 70,000 miles on it, i like it alot. the car currently has no mods and it completly stock, but i got big plans!! i need some help on desiding what to do first, my thought were either, rims, coilovers, blow off vavle/intake, new black top(tan one is in rough shape), or sound system. let me know what you think and any other things i should do frist and whatnot.

Welcome to the site! Sounds like you have a nice car. Post some pics up soon. Depends on what you want out of the car, as far as your first mod goes. If you want looks, go with rims for sure. Otherwise do some performance stuff, like an exhaust system or BOV.

welcome to the site, i agree with Jin.. sorta depends on what you want out of a car. I prefer show with some go where as most people on th e site are more about the most go and the least show .

im not sure what i want to do, i want show but then again i want go. i will post some pics when it gets nice out and i can give it a bath, im thinking first it the BOV, i was talking to this kid i know who has a 1g and he knows alot about engines and stuff and he told me to get the turbo xs rfl. he said that was one of the loudest ones out there, and thats what im looking for, your gonna hear me commin, he also said to get the carbon TI exhaust because it will go good with black. let me know your opinions on BOVs and exhaust and which ones sound the best. to me sound is better then performance.
Thanks,
Mike

Welcome to the site, Mike.

But as far as mods go, I'd rather eat a nugget of my own poop then put a TurboXS blow-off valve on any vehicle I have. If you want a loud, well-performing BOV, get the HKS SSQV. But even a 1G bov would be a worthwhile upgrade over the stocker.

Where are you from by the way?

I have the HKS SSQV. It's pretty nice. Very loud. And it gets the job done pretty well. Dont put that TurboXS thing on. I've read shitty reports on them, and a buddy of mine with an SRT4 has gone through 2 of them in less then a year. The Greddy TypeS is very nice, so is the Tial. Stick with one of those and you should be good.

Welcome!!!! Try this out. This is a great upgrade path for you and it is written by people who know alot about dsm's as it says always do maintance first.

try this link. I can't think of a better guide for someone new to dsm.

btw :goodluck:

note I am not trying to promote that site. It is just a good link.

Instead of a completely black wheel, look into black chrome or gunmetal like what Enes has for his car. Completely black wheels end up making black cars look like Night Rider and not like sports cars.

Personally to many people are going gunmetal and dark with polished lips. They look good but its not orignal at all anymore. I dont know Im one for nice silver wheels with polished lips.
