i know i'm guilty of it... but here is my piss topic for the week...

Some people sell parts.. new/used whatever..

now, there are two different sets of parts, parts that get worn out, and parts that don't...

lets take for example intake manifold. That doesn't get worn out. lets say i bought an Magnus (forbiden over QPR one) and a year later people will still ofer you $300 less than what new is. if its holding boost and doesn't have a lot of scratches, why do people try to lowball you on the parts...

Now lets take pistons for example. or rods or something that gets worn out and can get damaged by just leting it sit in the open air. and people still want almost full price for it, if its used, its used and worn.. who knows how good it was installed, hell that might be THE reason they are selling it.

argh, just another one of my pissing topics this week.. sorry.. add .02 if you wish.....

Motorcycle cop pulls up next to me on UNI and says "Want to race?"
Me- "I don't think you would stand a chance."
Cop says "probably not" and drives off.

People including me try for the best price possible. I ussually start lower and work to a medium that works for both of us (buyer/seller).

because why would anyone pay the new price or close to new when for a few bucks more they can get it brand new from the people that manufacture it, with full warranty, support, etc? If you're spending big bucks, most are going to spend what it takes to get a part from the manufacturer unless the second-hand guy is selling at a significant discount, whether or not it is a 'wear' product. at least, that's how i am.

so, you have a magnus intake for $300 off for sale?

No i don't, but i personaly was offered like $5 for the 1g intake manifold.. and another $5 for the Throtle body with sensors. then another $20 for the ecu .. by a local member.. you know who you are.. i just deleted your e-mail.. if you don't get an answer.. well you will know what that means..

it just pisses me off, because i know if i was buying it from him he'd at least want $30 for the intake mani plus another $45 or so for the throtle body etc etc.. and about $175 for the eprom ecu..

Well there is lowball bulshit that you just described in the previous post and then there is the used item factor. The way I see it, if it was $500 new, used it should be around 300-375, 400 if it's perfect. Hell people buy things, don't use them and still take a $50 loss. (sometimes)
