the paint code in a can works pretty good but you got to expect it to look a small shade off, unless your going to wet sand it and clear coat it

If you look at my valve cover I used ford red and it almost looks identical. With red you can be off a little and it's hard to notice.

That's the debate I'm having. Pretty sure I'll have it coated also..

Re: 4g63tcrazy's new setup for 2010

Picked up some coil spring boosters from autozone the other night. That with my AWD lowering springs should help out a little with traction.

Still waiting on my parts to get done at Primo then everything gets put back together. This nice weather is killing me!

Re: 4g63tcrazy's new setup for 2010

Took my type s apart today and cleaned it all up. The inside of it had a lot of oil residue in it. I polished the base of it and painted the top red. Also drilled and tapped the bov flange.

Re: 4g63tcrazy's new setup for 2010

Spent 6 HOURS hand polishing the compressor cover tonight.. It's my first time doing it and I would say it turned out pretty good. Started off with 100grit, then 220, 400, 800, then finally 1000. It's safe to say I'll probably never do this again.

Here is what it used to look like.

Haha I was trying to decide if I wanted to polish the cover on the 3076, but I decided against it. So I just brought it to work and blasted it.

What kind of polishing compound did you use?

^Thanks!

Here is a pic of it installed. Still waiting for Primo to get done with my exhaust parts. Then I'll be able to get everything installed and finally drive it!

Looking good man! You'll have to give me a ride in it when you get all the bugs worked out.

Re: 4g63tcrazy's new setup for 2010

Put it all together today. I've been driving it around for the passed hour tuning it in. Taking a break right now to let the battery charge up on my computer then I'm going back at it.
