Re: Yep..another one.
I threw an EvoIII 16g on my car last spring and decided to keep the external wastegate run off the o2 housing the same way I had my GT3076 set up. I'm planning on bringing it to Shane this spring for a tune on E-fuel so I'll see what I can wring it out for. I'm hoping for anywhere between 375 and 40, and as much boost as the turbo can handle and still be somewhat efficient.

I never really did get a clean dyno session in. But at MAP I put down 370whp on the small 16g. Still not on the best of a tune do to a failing bov.

Re: Yep..another one.
I haven't decided whether to go with an external wastegate set up or not. I'm not trying to get a ton on my plate, cause the more that gets added to my list, less likely I have money to do it.
Also have to ask where you got your headlights (kevin1gdrummer), I know it's OT, so if you could just pm me with where ya got um, or just reply to the thread I made. Mark had said something about you having blackhousings, and I'm looking for a set.

Those are also FWD numbers...
95tsi on here has a 2.3 stroker, 272's, SMIM, E-85, FMIC, pretty much the works, and makes 347hp and 361tq @ DB Just for a comparison

Re: Yep..another one.
I know they're fwd numbers, and thats also at MAP on a small 16g. I'm not looking for giant numbers. Honestly 300+hp at db is more than fine with me. I'm not out to make a horsepower monster, just a fun street car, that I can take to the track everyonce in a while.

Re: Yep..another one.
So my new turbo got sent out yesterday. Bought it needing a rebuild, so got it dirt cheap. It's an PTE scm6152e, set up for an external gate. So I'm heading in quite a different direction. I'm not dead set on using it, and since my car isn't gonna get touched until spring, I got some time to mull it over. Ordering a set of super low mile Rc 1200cc injectors (again, no way I'm paying full price haha) tomorrow, or Friday. Gonna be ditching the safc as well, and I'm still waiting to find out when ecmlink lite is coming out. Once that's out, I'll swoop that up. Have an EPROM somewhere (hopefully, recently went missing), so well on my way to the set up I want.
Best part is, haven't really spent any money so far. Parts I've been getting rid of, have managed to fund all the new stuff. So I'm keeping with my budget build goal. Still need to find some 3kgt vr4 brackets for the 1g...*cough chim55117 cough*.

Re: Yep..another one.
You should just have Shane burn you a chip with the Eprom if you're working on a bit of a budget. I'm probably going to go with an Evo 8 ECU, just have to find someone to make a harness for me...

Re: Yep..another one.
I didn't really have a good experience with the last chip I had used. I had one for my 560's and 16g, and my car just didn't seem to run right (used a maf-t as well). Idk couldve been something else wrong with the car, guess I could give it a shot.
Ecmlink lite is like $325, which doesn't hurt my feelings too bad. Either way shane will do some sort of tune.

Re: Yep..another one.
^^Shane will burn the chip custom to your setup though dude. Really not any different than Link, just that you can't really make adjustments to it without buying an emulator/chip burner/etc.

Re: Yep..another one.
I'll have to give them a call before I go out and buy link then. I don't feel the need to make adjustments on the fly, because hopefully once I have this all put back together, I won't have to worry about changing stuff up. I'm trying to make it somewhat reliable, which is making me rethink the big turbo route. But I don't see why it can't be reliable, as long as I take my time, and do everything right. I'm not in a huge rush to drive it, more excited to work on it. Gets my mind off crap haha.

Re: Yep..another one.
So I just bought a set of FIC 1150cc injectors for $100 brand new in the box. Am I gonna be pushing these pretty hard with my scm61, or should I be fine with those? I'm buying them either way, if I need to go bigger, then I'll just sell them, and get bigger ones.

Re: Yep..another one.
Some guys prefer big turbos since they're out of boost more and give you better gas mileage. Not sure how big an scm61 is. I know that you'll run out of single Walbro before you do 1150 injectors. Is that turbo over 450 at DB?

Re: Yep..another one.
I believe 1150s should about max out a single 255lph pump. So you'll be pushing both the pump and injectors probably, if you're going for over 400whp.

Re: Yep..another one.
I'll be looking for ~400hp out of the turbo. I guess I'll pick then up, and just sell them, and look to get some bigger ones, and look into different fuel pump options. I didn't even think about maxxing the pump out. The turbo (I believe) is rated at 350-630hp, I think that's what I read a while back.

Re: Yep..another one.
You'll be fine with your setup at 400whp. I think most people start maxing out the pump around 440whp at DB.

Re: Yep..another one.
I haven't settled on a goal, which is not the way to head into a project, I know that haha. I don't wanna get stuck maxing out parts, cause that's when they end up failing. I would be ecstatic with a 425hp street car, but need reliability to be part of that as well. Have to keep reading up on stuff lol.

The cost to beef everything up pretty much doubles somewhere in the 400's. Shooting for >450 at DB is an investment.

Re: Yep..another one.
Yea which makes me wanna not go higher then 400. I'm not planning on driving this car, until it's the way I want it, and so it's to the point where I'm not wrecking stuff every month. Getting an ugly, but reliable, 91 sentra to cruise around in, in the meantime.
