Montana Ski Pics

Went with Asshanson and people out to Montana for the week of New years. Skid Big Sky and Bridger Bowl, had a blast! Lots of PBR was consumed.

Some pics:

A few of us decided to take a tree route.. only to get stuck in a ravine lol

Top of Challenger lift at Big Sky, double black ftw!

Drinkin it up at the "Azn" Sushi Bar, didnt see any azns though...

Asshanson about to hit the double black.

The peak!

NYE druuuuunk

After New years, we left Big Sky and went to Bridger bowl for a couple days:

The crew on the last night out before heading home.

Finally, driving back through Billings, we spotted this at a Burger king we stopped at. Immediately we thought of Pete! (PolishMafia) lolol Notice the chains, red blinkers, etc...

Re: Montana Ski Pics

Dang stupid Picasa... PICS are fixed!

Scheides I think next year Im investing in a ski pole flask! I head to Steamboat for 3 days in a couple weeks, so Ill have more pics too.

We didn't get any huge storms, but 3 days I think it snowed 4inches or so at night, and the last day we had a couple inches come down right before we left.

Re: Montana Ski Pics

I really need to get out to the mountains skiing again...

I went from going every single day for 5 years to going once in the past 3 years because the mountains ruined skiing around here.

Re: Montana Ski Pics

Scheides, I boarded down from the peak, but we went a different way than we thought and ended up at the Shedhorn lift. The top was sooo windy, it was hard to walk in it even, easily over 50mph winds up there, they actually closed the gondola shortly after we rode up. We wanted to hit the north face and ski the snow fields, but it was closed because there was no way out except for cliffs. The wind blew all the snow off I guess.

The top was very windblown and crusty, but once we got down 100 feet or so it was untouched deep powder, at a huge angle down. Took just a few minutes to finish the run. Definitely the highlight of Big Sky.

At Bridger we have a friend who is ski/avalanche patrol, so on his day off he took us to the new lift they put up last summer. It services the out of bounds area only, and he had to give us avalanche beacons for us to even ride the lift. Again, right after we rode up they closed the lift because of winds, so we only got one run, but hit some cool terrain and a narrow chute, definitely pushed my limits this year.

Re: Montana Ski Pics

Bridger Bowl is a blast, I was out there about 4 or 5 years ago with some friends. My buddy actually lives about 15 minutes from there outside Bozeman, these pics make me want to get back out there now!!

Re: Montana Ski Pics

One thing I just noticed... I wonder if that Diamante really needs the chains on the rear tires...
