I'm Muslim so that makes me a Terrorist.......

My family and many other families have gone thru a lot of pain and suffering during the war in Bosnia. My family was separated from each other as the war began, so was many others. My father was in a concentration camp for over 8 months, and there was 7 known concentration camps in NW part of Bosnia. They would beat, burn, masacre, cut, throw into acid, burn alive, buried alive, cut up in peaces, killed with bats chains axes and any other blunt object you could think of. They weren't given any food or water for days, once a week was feeding time and you only had 30 seconds to eat, and during the time you are eating soldiers would walk around and beat on people with anything they could get their hands on. .... to be continued later...

Wow....I can't even imagine what that was like. Thank you sharing Enes, I'm sure it's hard thinking about what it was like.

I'm just at a loss for words...

Damn. Once again it is proven that we know nothing about war. IT's so easy to brush it under the carpet a squabble about our petty differences. It is different when people are tortured and killed. I am sorry to hear what you had to go thru and I am happy to know that you are in the States now and can live your life. I think one of the main problems is the lack of knowledge we all have. You story gave us some insight into the reality of war and genocide. Once again I thank you for sharing and wish you the best.

While men men were taken into concentration camps women and children were gathered into womens concentration camps where they were held for the solders pleasure. The Red Cross came in and was bringing them food but they couldn't do anything to stop the attrocities against women. The UN was at the gates with M16's with empty magazines. If they were fired upon they weren't able to fight back, many of them were shot and beat up. They were there just to "observe". Many women disapeared out of those camps, many many young girls were raped and beat to death or left to barely survive, many ended up killing themselvs because the solders kept doing the same thing over and over and over again. And UN was there and did nothing about it, they were there to observe the enforcement of the arms embargo and not interfeere in the situation. They were hoping that serbs would kill us all and there would be no spread of the war to the neighboring countries. ... i'm too upset to continue writing now, i'll continue later again... FUKEN SERBS...

Personally, I believe if the US would stop getting into most people's shit, we'd be fine. Most countries wouldn't hate us. I mean, there are things like WW2 with all of the horrible things the Nazis did that would disprove humane thinking in the US if we didn't help, but we don't need to "liberate" every country into a "democracy". Especially when we're not even a democracy ourselves, we're a republic. People talk like the United States has a clean slate, too. I suggest people should look up the Mylai(sp?) Massacre. Bad things happen, and that's how it goes. As long as there are humans, there will be violence, all you can do is attempt to fight it.

For the record, I'm not one of your "OmglookatmeI'msucharebelpunk!!!11oneoneone" people.

I agree. Just because something like democracy works for us, doesnt mean that it will work for another country. We as Americans have different values, morals, and ways of thinking than other countries out there.
About that thing on going to ''liberate'' every country, I say that The only time we sould go into another country militarily is if the country being invaded or attacking asks for our help in the effort. I dont think that we should just be going in with the idea that we are going to make this country another America, that leads to the stuff where other countrys come to hate us and like the North Koreans see us as ''Warmongols.'' Sure, Im all for the military and our forces, but sometimes I dont support what we do and the reasons behind it. Pretty much the only way for us to know what war is and what it is capable off is to actually be able to say, "Ive been there, I have seen what it is capable of and how it destroyes, families, town, countries, and the world. Ive been there." For all of you that have been there, I truly respect and admire you for having the courage that no one else can amount to. Okay, Im gettin a little carried away, so Ill take some time to cool down and write later.

I am a total supporter of the troops as i know that they are keeping our soil safe. The Drummer of the band i am in leaves for Iraq on sunday. He doesnt support the war at all but he knows that he must go. I dont believe in war and totally feel for the troops.

Enes, that is totally fucked up, when i was reading your post i realised how lucky we are to not have to go through that. no one should have to go through such horrible expirences such as that.

#1. We are a Republic, not a Democracy.
#2. The word is "Warmongers"

#1) Enes, I did not mean to offend you with anything I said. I did not mean that because you are Muslim, that makes you a terrorist. Each race and religeon (sp) has it's terrorists. Christans had the Nazi's and the KKK, Muslims and people of Islam have Al Queda (sp). There will always be people who use good doctrine to justify evil doings and oppression of others.

#2) I believe that as humans in America, living prosperous and such, it is our responsibility to take care of our fellow man. Sure, fighting a war for oil is wrong, but through it all, no more Saddam. We are living witnesses to history. Forever in History books will our offspring read of our peers putting an end to an oppressive regime, one that ranks with those of Nazi Germany and the Ethnic Cleansing in Yugoslavia. And to defend ourselves. If we had not reacted to September 11, what would we be leaving ourselves open to? "So the infadel does not react when pushed over the edge, why not destroy them all?" We would just be screwing ourselves. I don't wish my religeon on anyone else, it's mine, yours can be yours. But I still feel that it's our humane duty to help those in need. "Blessed is he who in the name of Charity and Good will defend the weak, so and so forth." I do believe that some of the hate doctrine toward the US derives from this, I guess that just goes to show how someone can use a positive message to deliver a negative result. The war with Iraq is a touchy subject, but I guess nothing in life is just Black and White anymore...

I guess with that, this makes $0.04 for me on this thread.

$0.06 if you count the first post.

God Bless America

Right on. Even if you don't agree with what the Gov't is doing, doesn't mean turn your back on your brothers and sisters. I'M NOT SAYING ANYONE HAS.... I'm just saying.

WOOT WOOT!!! Been to the middle east once. I thought Yuma was hot, which it is, but geez, that place is horrible. I was over there for about 3 months. I had it easy compared to a lot of the troops. If I had a scanner I'd show you my "war pics". But even though I was on a nice safe base, there were still moments where you'd freak out, like the very first scud alarm. I took off for our bunker so damn quick, then I didn't even get to go in it because they needed a Radar Tech to stay outta the bunker and be in the Radar just incase something faulted out, they needed someone to get it all running again because we can't just stop all Air Traffic Control. They first wanted my buddy Jay to do it, but he has a wife and 3 daughters, so I just kinda thought that was retarded so I took his place so he could be in the bunker. Anyway, ya I thank anyone else who's gone or going over there. It sucks but once you come home, you feel really good about what you did.
