No more smoking!
First 24 hours are done.
I woke up and took a buprophrin (sp?) and on the way to work had a huge craving, so i said fuck it, went to walgreens and got a pack of the patch. So far its been working great, just gonna take it a day at a time and finally get rid of this damn habit.
Plus gotta save money for the highly possible move back to the land of ice and snow (may '09)

Re: No more smoking!
I've been trying to quit for a while. I've been told I'm an asshole without a cigarette though. So yeah....
I'm fine on the weekends, maybe 5 smokes for 3 days, but then work comes around, 1 smoke every 2 hours! I notice how big of a piece of shit my body is now too, I walk up a hill and I'm about to die! WTF!? Quitting smoking-wagon here I come.

I've been thinking about moving away from Minnesota at that same time. What a coincidence!

Re: No more smoking!
I was gonna take chantix but i have been reading some crazy stuff online about that. and i would understand if it was a couple people but damn its pretty much 90% of the people.
A lot of the people expirence crazy dreams, There was a couple cases where the person went nuts and strangled his wife or something then snapped out of it and didnt know what was happening.

Re: No more smoking!
Ive found that the patch really does help. I just got the walgreens one. and i havent had a smoke for 3 days now.
The cravings are sometimes hard but they arent as bad as they would be if i quit without the patch. (been there done that).
I just keep myself busy and i dont really even think about it.

Re: No more smoking!
It is always nice to see that people are giving in effort to quit smoking. My dad died from smoking 7 or 8 years ago when I was only in 8th grade so I have hated cigarettes ever since. Good job and keep it up!

Re: No more smoking!
Just take it one day at a time and you'll be fine. It will be hard, but you can get through it. I quit almost 2.5 years ago and it's the single best thing I have ever done for myself.

Re: No more smoking!
Good job so far and good luck to keep it going. I stopped smoking before I got hooked in high school. I just have a cigar a couple times a month now.
I just wish my dad would quit. He's been smoking since he was 15, and while I was little he was smoking close to 3 packs a day for more than a few years.
Sucks when people think you smoke heavily cause you live with people who do.

Re: No more smoking!
Yeah mainly the point to me not smoking was for my son. And plus a couple times i would come in from having and smoke and i would get a clear whiff of what it smelled like and said to myself "Damn is this really what everyone else is smelling. I feel bad for my girlfriend now. (she doesnt smoke)
BTW still no smoking. the patch really works wonders. Although today i forgot it before i went to work. so ill have to put it on when i go home for lunch.
