Possible crap in my gas tank.
Well I come back from my cabin to my Minneapolis place and I notice a lot of my crap has been F'ed with. So far all fingers point to one of my room mates according to the rest of them.
For all I know he had nothing to do with it so I haven't made a fuss about anything because it won't solve anything... So I go out and check my car and the gas tank mainly... I notice chipped paint right on the bottum right corner of the gas tank... exactly where I would try to pry that gas tank open if I had to. So basically I'm just worried that a room mate or some random fool put sugar or whatever in my tank.
I'm just wondering if I can syphin (sp) the gas out or if I need to just drop the tank and make sure anything / everything is out?
If dropping the tank is the case it needs to be done this weekend because I plan on moving out. My only dilema is that I have a broken leg and don't feel completely comfortable doing it all by my self. If anyone has time over the weekend to spare a hand I would appreciate it. I can provide some beers and money (not a lot of money, but a fair amount for the time it takes).
Thanks,
ANthony

Re: Possible crap in my gas tank.
that sucks. should require much lifting or anything, just put a floor jack under the tank, buzz the strap bolts off, etc. Actually, most 1Gs have a drain to the tank...

Re: Possible crap in my gas tank.
Yea I suppose I could always drain it, I'm just worried about anything that hasn't dissolved completely into the gas that might eventually get sucked up by my walbro.

Re: Possible crap in my gas tank.
Maybe someone just seen your car sitting there for a long while, and with gas prices where they are right now, tried siphoning some gas out.
But to be safe, just drain it. If it looks like there's a bunch of crap coming out when you drain it, then I'd drop the tank and clean it.

Re: Possible crap in my gas tank.
No idea, he started getting pist off at me about anything and everything right before I broke my leg left to my cabin.
What really set him off though I think was when I stopped home after a week of being gone (my room was still the same as I left it) and noticed my vaporizer was just laying on the ground, not a big deal but I could tell they weren't treating it with respect. So I put it in my safe but left a few of the key components out to it. Well anyways I get a call from my room mate who I don't think had anything to do with it and he asked me where the vape went... So I tell him the truth and he was like, oh ok totally understandable.
Well I get back two weeks later and can't find the three critical components to run my vape and my room is all fucked up and gone through... so the vape is now useless. So I ask my room mates and no one has any clue where it went... One of em admits that the roomie I think did all of this crap cleaned the house and had the vape stuff last. Well to test him I ask if he wants buy it knowing he knows they are missing and he says yes. Right then and there I was almost positive it was him.
Well being that I no Longer smoke weed and have no use for the thing and can't sell it, I smash it into a thousand pieces. My other two room mates were like yea do it, and sure enough the roomie I think is responsible for everything like freaked out that I broke it and was like, that stuff would of showed up... I check everywhere but peoples rooms, so there is no way it would just randomly show up.
Then today I go to use one of my towels and it is sitting on my crutches next to the shower. I get out after I'm done showering and pick up the towel and like ten of his girl friends hairs are laying on my crutch where the towel was laying (She looses like 100 hairs a day, I don't know how she isn't bald). So I inspect it closely and someone obviously cleaned the bathroom floor with that towel then refolded it and put it where I keep my clean towels.
Once again I only believe it was the one room mate who did this because I think he was super pist about when our toilet over flowed because I accidently left it a little clogged after using it. I washed my hands and forgot to unclogg it, I was a little out of it since it was after my surgery and I was hopped up on pain killers. Well being the total dumbass that he is, he flushes the toilet like ten times in a row and it over flows all over our bathroom floor which I cleaned up a day after my surgery...(5 minutes after it happened)
To further prove I think it was him, my other two room mates where happy to see me when I got back, and I could just tell the one I think is responsible for all of this was just pist at me still.

Re: Possible crap in my gas tank.
It is in a garage that only my room mates have access to Brandon.
I guess I will just drain it like you said, and if its think and sludgy or whatever I'll pull her down.

Sugar will just get caught by the fuel filter. Drain your tank and fuck his girl; problem solved.

Yup. The fuel filter gets it all. Worst thing that can happen is it will clog your filter, but that would take a lot of sugar.

Re: Possible crap in my gas tank.
I had to try to get a DSM gas door open when the cable got stuck. They are a BITCH to get open. Mine ended up breaking. Unless there was some decent damage to it, I doubt they got in, unless they figured out to use the release. Personally I would pull the feed off the fuel filter and drain the tank that way, then call it good. It wouldn't be as good as draining the tank, but probably good enough. The only issue would be if something really nasty was in there and went through the pump.

Re: Possible crap in my gas tank.
Thanks for all the input guys, I will probably just do what Jet suggested since I need to change my filter anyways.
Saved me from pulling the tank...
