My civic needs a new windshield so I've been calling around to junkyards and the average is about 350 installed. Thats way to much so if anyone knows of any junkyards that are cheap please let me know. So far I've tried Johns (cheapest yet), Central auto parts, that one next to it..., and all glass america or something.

Otherwise I've got to go to work now :razz2:

One of my good friends dad owns Clear Choice Auto Glass out of Coon Rapids, give me the details about your car and I could get him to shoot me a price on the side for cash. He gives good deals.

The cheapest way is to claim it on insurance. Try searching
car-part.com. Several places will install them also.

Any where but Alpine Glass. They did mine in the CRX and it leaked. Of course mine had rust but I had it replaced before that and it never leaked. The company that did it before filled in the small holes of rust and then put the windshield in. When i called them to fix it, they came out and squirted a little urethane on the inside between the headliner and the windshield thinking that would seal it up. All it did was redirect the drip about 6 inches to the other side. I would NEVER recommend them for glass replacement. DO NOT USE ALPINE GLASS!!!!!

As far as any other company, I don't know. I wish I knew who did mine in the talon after the accident. They did an awesome job.

1990 civic hatchback
only paid 900 for it thats why I don't want to pay much for a windscreen. There is rust under the molding so it needs to be sanded/painted (nothing fancy). I can't claim it on insurance 'cause I only carry liability...for the above obvious reason. I haven't even botherd to call real auto glass places for another obvious reason. Johns auto parts in Blaine will only charge 115 for the used glass its self but the labor is where it adds up. Thanks for the suggestions so far guys.

If it has rust holes and you're not worried about how pretty or permanent it is, just have them fill in the holes with either urethane or silicone. They usually clean up a little of the rust before they do it. Just talk to them about it. If they've been doing it long enough, they'll understand that it's an older Honda and that they will have to do a little extra.
