Mazdaspeed 6 question

I know this isn't a Mazda forum but I know there are some guys on here that have mazdaspeed's. I am trying to find a rear axle for my speed 6. The dealer wants $450 but I am trying to find a aftermarket one. If anyone has any idea on where to find one that would be great. Thanks

Re: Mazdaspeed 6 question

Chances are very slim anything is openly available. It's a limited production car so there isn't as much attention to it.

Here's the obvious question, why would you be looking to pay for one? Shouldn't this be a part covered under warrenty? It's a year old.

Otherwise, I know there have been 1 or 2 rumared totaled. Carpart.com 'might' be an options.

ANd check up mnmazda.com, new site for the MN Mazda group. I'm TCSpeed6 on there.

Re: Mazdaspeed 6 question

Good luck I had a hell of a time finding a rear axle for a 10+ year old DSM that had hundreds of thousands made.

Warranty? Were you doing reverse doughnuts and hit a curb or something?

Re: Mazdaspeed 6 question

No, they voided the warranty. A bearing failed in the transmission so it had to be replaced and they covered that but they said that if anything else breaks they won't cover it. Now this axle just broke and they won't cover it. So I kind of just want to get it fixed and then sell it. I can't stand dealing with the mazda dealership. But thanks for the help I will just have to keep searching.

Re: Mazdaspeed 6 question

They can't just null and void your warranty for no reason, what happened? Is the car modded? What dealership you going though?

Re: Mazdaspeed 6 question

The only thing that is done to it is an intake. And yes they can null and void your warranty. This was from the mazda dealer in St. Cloud.

Re: Mazdaspeed 6 question

I would get in touch with another dealer. In order to void a warrenty they have to be able to show that you did something to the car that lead to the issue. Putting an intake on the car is nothing, the Service guy I deal with at Brookdale said if I put an intake on my 6, they would void any warranty on the surrounding factory intake, but everything else would be covered. Sounds like you're getting the shaft. That just sucks.

Re: Mazdaspeed 6 question

Stand up for your rights! Contact Mazda of America and advise them on your current situation and see what help they can provide. Dealerships, crappy ones at least, will do anything to get out of warranty. I talk with dealerships all day long and negotiate whats warranty and whats not. You just need to be firm that your issues IS covered under warranty.

Re: Mazdaspeed 6 question

Yeah I've been talking to everyone I can but so far no luck. They already stamped the door jamb tag as warranty void. I even worked at this dealership for over a year and still no help. Oh well thanks for all the help
