Car won't start

hmm...well i have a 91 eclipse GSX. My problem is that the car won't start. i put it away in the garage for the winter time in november. i went to start it last week to see if there is any problems with it but it wouldn't start. it cranked but it just wouldn't start. i switched the battery with a new one since i had a warranty anyways and it started again. today i went to start it and it wouldn't start again. it choked and cranked but nothing. is it due to the cold or alternator? or any thing electrical? anythnig would be helpfull. thanks

My guess is alternator. Get the new battery checked and if it's dead or low replace your alternator.

Like I said, I believe your alternator is the problem, but if this were my car, I'd get the new battery checked just to be positive. NAPA checks your battery for free so why not take advantage of it.

Re: Car won't start

I would lean twards your alternator being fine, it doesn't charge the car when it isn't running..... It's friggen cold out, and batteries don't hold a charge forever. The ignition system needs AT LEAST 9 volts to start up the car while cranking. It will still crank at less than 9 volts though. Put a charger on it, or jump it and see what happens

Re: Car won't start

I'm not sure EXACTLY on autozone, but most places don't charge for testing
