oil pan: gasket maker or gasket?

hey,

i just want to know all your inputs on that area. i know mistu full gasket kit does not include any such oil pan gasket, but the other aftermarket full gasket kit does provide one.

i have never rebuilt a non-turbo 4g63, maybe that engine uses the gasket but on the 4g63 turbo engines, i just use gasket maker per the fsm.

i recently rebuilt a turbo 4g63, i lined up the gasket with the block, it does match, but i went ahead used the gasket maker sealant.

any and all inputs welcome.
thanks
yy

Black RTV is what I use. I avoid Top line products.

personally, i think you should do both just in case. i have both RTV and a gasket on mine and it runs perfect with no leaks what so ever.
