Re: Burning DSM at Norwalk

Damn, that sucks big time. I don't know if any of you guys have experienced a car fire. When I first bought my Dodge Neon in the fall of 04' I had it for about 2 weeks when one night on the way home the spider gear differential pin decided to say hello and come out at 75mph. It made a huge explosion that rocked the whole car and shot flames and shit all over the highway. Scariest thing I have ever experienced in my life. I lost all braking power and my power steering for some reason and the engine kept on running too. When I got down to about 25-30mph my friend in the passenger seat jumped the fuck out when I got over near the ditch. The car was still on fire at this point too. When I got down to about 10mph I just pulled the e-brake up and, took the keys out, and jumped out onto the highway myself and ran. It was about 1am, so there were no cars on the road thankfully. I called 911 and there were 2 fire trucks, an ambulance, and 3 cops. The fire had already gone out long before they got there and I had the car towed to Goodyear. There was a hole the size of my head in the transmission and the clutch had completely melted away too. All in all, the dealership settled on having me pay $500 to fix it, which was bullshit because I'd not even had it for 2 weeks, but whatever. I got the 3.94 tranny out of it which made me happy
