Anybody live in the Mission, TX or McAllen, TX area?
I am going to be flying down there at the end of the month to go pick up my new car. I was wondering if there were any fellow DSMers that live in that area. My parents have a townhome in Mission. I am only going to be there for maybe 2 days but if there is anyone down there, it would be cool to meet you while I'm there.
Maybe I could meet some others of you on the way back up. I'll be driving straight up 35.
Also, is there anyone that might be interested in flying down there with me. This kinda came up suddenly so I understand this is short notice. But if someone wants to go, let me know by tomorrow (Saturday the 14th). I'll be flying out of St. Paul on the 25th in the morning and getting back on that sunday. It would be nice to have someone help with the driving back. I could flip for half the airfare (ticket costs $140 so that would be $70).

Ames is right on 35. I'm always up for going out to lunch if you wanted to since you'll be passing right by.

I believe I will be passing thru Waco on the way home. I don't know what time I am going to leave yet though. I'm thinking about leaving Mission sometime in the evening to avoid traffic. Get as far north on the first leg as I can.

2001 CRV.
It's a little more practical for me right now and I can't pass up the deal. I need something that I can get a little better mileage with and something that I can haul stuff around in. It's got 47,000 miles on it with only one owner. It's kinda funny because I'm buying it from my mother (again another car bought from her). I'm using the Talon as a down payment. That's why I have to sell it.

Re: Anybody live in the Mission, TX or McAllen, TX area?
Well, I only live a few miles south of the twin cities. Just west of 35. I am going to Texas for a few days to pick up a car.
So what was the point of that post??

My parents have a place right by McAllen. I haven't been down there yet, but it's a hell of a long ways from here. It's as far south as Miami. Yikes.

Yeah. I tell people if you turn west and throw a rock it hits Mexico. If you turn east and throw a rock it hits the Gulf of Mexico. It is just about as south as you can get.
