Just something else to work on......

Picked this Ram 1500 up mostly for the wife <cough- now I just need a trailer- cough>, clean, runs perfect, 4x4 crew cab, loaded, it's the first ride we bought off Ebay, paid less than 1/2 of what Fury Motors wanted for same truck. Think we did well on the deal so far? Paying CASH pays! And we don't need full coverage, liability cost us only $32 a month vs $38 for out tiny summit?

Fury wanted $10k for a similar truck, plus with the additional financing and full coverage insurance costs over 60 months, we figure we saved around $15K in total over the term by paying for it in CASH.

Living always only thinking of a monthly payment just leaves you a total slave to the dam machine!

Our only cost on this thing is $32 a month + fuel <and that isn’t cheap anymore either>

Not $250 a month for 60 months, plus $100 for the insurance, and then fuel!

Unfortunately if the tranny has not already been rebuilt at least once, it's coming. Otherwise a nice ride!

Unfortunately you are probably right. But, I do know a few people that have 200k on the original engine and tranny.

Good buy though Howie. Looks like a nice truck!

That truck looks really good for that price.

All vehicle models have their weak links. Look for the catalytic converter to self destruct and save money for a good trans rebuild. Those are the only two problems I've seen on a regular basis with those trucks.

Good luck with it!

Put a tranny cooler on it and it will give you come extra miles. The reason they fail is because of overheating for the most part.

Thanks for the great tips gents!

But one maybe Lame question, since this is a auto tranny, the fluid is pumped and already cooled through radiator right? That water cooling isn't enough to give a tranny long life or?

TIA...
