Girls vs. Boys
It suprises me that when I need it most, the side of me which constantly bitches about girls not getting enough respect from the boys [as far as cars and racing go] is no where to be found.
I've been making an attempt at a write up for the Style Report, and as Jana suggested, I had planned on do a piece on Girl's Vs. Boy's... Since that's my usual rant.
However, for whatever reason, the inspiration is lacking at the moment. I was hoping to start a threat that would pose some arguement on this subject, so I could get a little inspiration. I need to be pissed or something needs to send my thoughts into over drive.
So throw anything out there. Anything at all. I know a lot of the reponses are going to be aims at pissing me off, or just all out retarded, but I want anything. Thoughts, opinions, statistics, etc.

Re: Girls vs. Boys
I think the best idea is just to write what your opinion is, submit it, and when it's up and online we can go after opinions and feedback.
You might think boys don't give girls respect they might deserve and thus suck, but girls swallow.

Re: Girls vs. Boys
That's a pretty easy topic to write about heh. You've been ridiculed about anything you've said regarding cars. Part of that is because you don't know alot but most of it is probably because your a girl. When it comes to cars, most women get little to no credibility for whatever reason. When I have some spair time, I can try give you a hand if you want. Let me know.

Allan: I know what all of my opinions are, but like I said for whatever reason they aren't coming out, and I'm not being inspired.. it's pissing me off.
Josh: You just gave me a brilliant idea!
But let's keep the thread in motion.. I need more!

Re: Girls vs. Boys
Girls are fucking worthless around cars. I suprised that they know what way the front of the car is. Girls dont know the difference between the tranny dip stick and the oil dip stick(My sister) Come on the freakin top is RED wouldnt it make sence to put the RED fluid in? not OIL! All they need a car for is to go back and forth to the mall. They dont need it fixed or an oil change. They say that the machanics are dirty and shit and hate them until there car breaks down then they will suck thier nuts for them to work on it. The only place that a girl belongs around a car is on top of it in a swim suit. haha that was fun. In reality I dont believe any of this. You said you needed some fuel so do it up. Really I think that if a girl want to try to do some shit I respect that. ALOT. Again i dont believe any of that Its just some things one might think about girls and cars.

Re: Girls vs. Boys
My girl wants my car to look nice. She wants to be in a nice lookin car.
Yet when i'm detailin it, waxin and what not..........which you know takes awhile.
She complains that i care more for the damn car.
Yet when i pick her up, "oooh, its so shiny." Woman, you better not put your prints on it !!!!!
But the girls in my autoshop class back in HS knew ALOT more than i did.

Re: Girls vs. Boys
my woman doesn't know where to put washer fluid
not sure what else I can say. They belong working on cars as much as guys doing the laundry.
is that some fuel?
in reality, women do not get respect with cars because the general presecption of woman is sugar and spice and everything nice.
while men are associated with blood, grease and beer stained wifebeaters.
its more a social preception than a lack of respect.

Re: Girls vs. Boys
I wouldn't let my woman touch my car unless she's naked on her back on the hood and I'm getting some. Women should know their place is pumping the gas and waxing that thing (and the car too) while wearing a too-tight wet cut-off t-shirt and a thong, and telling me how big that piston looks from where she's kneeling.
That should write a novel for ya.

Re: Girls vs. Boys
In the new super street and turbo magazine of mine both have issues on girl tuners. Also the new chanhassen magazine had a thing on a girl who tuned a 99gst with sweet fast n furious vinyl and make some club.

Re: Girls vs. Boys
My girlfriend from highschool changed my brakes on my Grand Prix, cut off my rusted fog light brackets with an acetylene torch, then started my bumper on fire and put it out by smuthering it with her bare hand, and broke into my cavalier for me when I locked the keys in it with a flat head screwdriver she pulled out of her pocket. She is proof enough that some chicks know wassap.
To me it has nothing to do with sex. It has to do with comments that are off the wall dumb. But what really is annoying is when it was a girl, and she thinks the reason she is catching flack is because she is female, and plays that card over and over and over. But nope, it's not her vagina to blame, it was her airheaded Jessica Simpson-esque comment!

Re: Girls vs. Boys
^^ I agree with the second half of that, the first half is cool too. I think the main thing is not about boys vs girls but its "knowledge" vs "acts like they have knowledge." This is not just between boys and girls, some guys dont even know how to do anything or how things work. If people were willing to learn things and go educate themselves on the basics, things would be different.
Liking cars and wanting to modify is one thing, but if you dont attempt shit yourself then you will always be a newb. This applies to both sexes, you just see it alot more with girls because guys can blend in when they act dumb. They dont make threads like this

Re: Girls vs. Boys
From my point of view, I've usually had good experience's in the car community when it comes to being female. Probably because I got sick of AJ being into cars so I started to pay attention and help out where I could until I got my own. Even then, when my car sucked, my friends didn't redicule me, they tried to help me fix problems or help me if I was doing something wrong. Those people know who they are, so I won't name names on here. I think it depends on how you act around them. I for one can't stand it when girls try and act like the know it all (or opposite, they play dumb), and dress like little sluts. But that's just my opinion. I could go on, but I don't feel up to it....

Re: Girls vs. Boys
The thing is Jana, you didn't say you knew more than you did. I see that a lot out of women. They know more than 95% of women, so they think they know a lot. That isn't necesarily true when comparing to guys. Some nameless women get all pissy when someone says they don't know what they are talking about, when they really don't. It doesn't have anything to do with sex though, it is because they really don't! The same would be said to a guy and has been many times on here. Some women throw out the sex card as an excuse, just like the race card gets thrown out sometimes just as an excuse in other parts of life.

Holy shit JET, your the next Dr. Phil.
I think my opinion about girls will be bias, because as of now I haven't met one girl that knew much about cars or really had a clue about most things in life. However they usually have perfected how to bitch, complain, and try to be controlling.
The perfect girl to me would have no teeth and the only thing she could do to communicate is Huummmmmmmmmmm!

i would say your best bet would be to wait until you are pmsing, then write the artical. Women are fucking evil when they are bleeding.

I second that.
Bitching. Check.
Complaining. Check.
Controlling. Check.
Worthless. Check.
In 16+ years of drag racing I've met ONE woman that knew anything at all about cars and wasn't afraid to turn a wrench. I actually saw her bust a knuckle or two. Very cool, but she wasn't very attractive. She turned out to be the local track groupie. That reinforces my previous thoughts on them all being whores.
I've known one woman that could drive pretty decent. My friend's wife regularly won the non-electronics bracket racing class (and sometimes the electronics class) with a mostly stock 5-speed Mustang running 13.20's-12.90's. 5.oh lights all day long. Bracket racing isn't my thing but it sure was cool to watch her drive to the track, smoke dragsters/race cars, win the money, swap tires and drive her street car home.
Other than that I have found very few uses for them.

Dont forget pistol grip ears and cute hair. Gotta have something good to look at. A flat head might be nice for a spot to put your drink but thats probably asking too much.

Re: Girls vs. Boys
All of you have very good points!! From both sides of the perspective!
I'm sure I do some of what you guys are saying, however, I know that I don't know much about cars, and I will be thefirst to tell ya. But I'm not a complete dumb ass and I yes I can get under a the hood and know my way around.
As far as those dumb sluts Jana was talking about, they piss me off. I knew a girl with a brand new 350Z and she walked around taking pics of it wearing nothing but a bikini and like 1/2 a skirt.. I asked her once what she was going to do to it.. she gave me a confused look and was like my dad is buying me rims?! I wanted to puke after that...
