This is another story about theiving bastards, and the ffing retards they are. So, week #1 at my new house. I'm still getting everything arranged and whatnot, so there's still stuff everywhere. Yesterday, I call in sick to work because, well, I'm sick. Work calls, big meeting, can't miss it, big client downtown, wells fargo center, blah blah blah. I pull my ass out of bed, clean up, and make the meeting. It goes fine. I head home, head for bed, and my pager goes off. Doh! More problems at work. I end up going in and working on a few dead routers and a ff'd up qwest atm until 12:30 am.
So much for my sick day! On the way home, there is shit down everywhere. I mean trees on houses, trees in houses, and general crap all over all the streets from the storm. I get home, and voila, the power is still out. Damn, guess I'm parking outside at the new place. As I am sitting & letting the turbo cool down, I get this vision of New Orleans, and all the looting that took place after the storm there, and invisioning stuff like that taking place in minneapolis.
Well sure as shit, 4 phone calls later for work it's 2am, and I'm exhausted. The power comes on, and I decide to just leave the car outside. In case the power goes off again (which it did!) and it stayed off, I need to be back downtown at 7:30am to meet the ffing Qwest technition.
6am, I hear my alarm go off. I grab my keys and go flying out the front door. No one around, I am ready to brawl in my boxers w/ whomever is out there. Yippee! My driver's side window is trashed. My neighbor comes out (how awesome is that?) saying he saw saw a car driving away.
They had just enough time to yank the dash face off around the vents and stereo, then fled because I think they knew I was coming out to put the smack down (I flipped on the light, via instinct, when I woke up).
Now my question: what the fuck is wrong with theves? My 1G was broken into in the past. They all have factory alarms, right? Why bother? And get this--I have an ipod shuffle. the little, little one. It was behind the s-afc, and they must have pulled on the cord attatching it to the stereo to get the bevel off. When I discovered it, they had left it sitting right in the shifter boot. Retards, fools, idiots! It's the 1 Gb model, so it's worth around $130. it's the size of a pack of wrigley's. Why not take that?
