Re: RF on the 27th

Well I decided I probably wont be there considering I am highly intoxicated and my car is still blowing a little smoke and leaking oil, also is having a misfire problem, think its the plugs but dont know off hand. Maybe I'll be there, it will be last minute decision if I do. If I do go I will probably have to change out turbos and fix the oil leak and retune which would take all night so my reaction times will by shitty. Oh well, maybe I'll see you guys there, maybe not. Good luck if not.

Re: RF on the 27th

You guys missed out. There was not that many people there, it was sunny and hit a high of 81 degrees. Track prep was outstanding for RF, and things flowed smoothly since there wasn't a bunch of pimply faced Honda drivers there. Myself and CarlTalon were running, and there were three other DSM's I didn't recognize there as well. We made up the import group, all others were domestics, including a 280ZX with a V8.

Re: RF on the 27th

How many cars would you say were there total? I'm just wondering if things are dying down there a little. For being a fun day, that place should have been packed end to end.

Re: RF on the 27th

During time trials there were 3 full lanes, but that was closer to noon. Early on there were only 2 lanes. The majority of the cars there were trailered race cars.

Re: RF on the 27th

Yeah, I woke up and decided that I wasnt gonna go and it was 8:30. So I went today (28th) for the Sport Compact day and man was I upset with my times. My best time was 14.9 . I had my logger and I had like 25+ counts of knock in third gear. I'm not sure if it was really knock, but that's what the logger said. So I went from last year's best of 13.9 to this years best of 14.9. BUT I won my 15.0 class.. hahaha... I didnt even want the trophy because I was running so slow. Only upgrades from last year was a 2.5" dp and 2600 clutch. Oh yeah, that guy with the red 2G and 4G64 engine (from the cookout) was there. Ran something like 11.3.

Talking Re: RF on the 27th

Nothing special. But I did manage to exactly match my previous best of 11.922, although I did it with pump gas and about 24psi. There's more left in the old dog.

I think this was the first time I've actually run with my Nitto drag radials. They hook like a mofo, although that 2.4 torque had 'em spinning hard on my last two runs.

Steve

Re: RF on the 27th

Went today (28th) and ran a bunch of high 14s... Track prep sucked balls. Best run of the day was 14.133 @ 105.57~ I cannot get traction for shit. My 60's were 2.6-2.8's all day when normally I can pull 2.0-2.2's. I think with slicks and a good tune would put me in the low 13s. I'm running about 18psi on an Evo III 16g and I cant get it from running rich.

Although I am proud to say I made it to the track, raced 7 times and made it home without a single problem. That is a first for me! I usually end up with a broke tranny or clutch.

Oh well... Ran 7 times, got to beat my car and not break anything, and made it home in 1 piece. It was all in all a good day.

Yea he ran an 11.3 and they told him to detune or he will get kicked out for not having a roll cage. So he did and ran fairly consistant 11.5's, not bad for still using the stock 1g intake manifold.

Vassil ran but was having a spark plug issue and his clutch was slipping majorly. I think his best time was 13.32 @ 78 When he shifted into 2nd the clutch just broke loose and he was bouncing off the rev limiter @ 9k as the car bogged way down and about fell on its face.

121-122 mph. Nah, 100 octane unleaded pump from the place up in Dayton on 81. That's all I run on the street now.

Tuning was very conservative since I richened the race gas maps Shane made for me.

Web page

It's outdated, but most of the external mods are current, at least as of this week.

Looks nice! Anything in the 11's is very respectable.
