Hurricane Rita

What's up everyone. Haven't been here for a while, I moved to Spring, Texas about 3 weeks ago which is about 10-15 miles or so from Houston. Now i'm dealing with Hurricane Rita lol. Pretty much sucks a lot. NO GAS, repeat NO GAS within like 20 mile radius and even that far I have no idea where to look. Traffic yesterday leaving northbound was unbelievable. A parking lot for as far as you could see. Worst traffic jam I have ever seen or even dreamed about. Every store is closed, so no way to buy food if you are out. Have to stay indoors right now because its getting really windy and raining out. I would have tried to make a run out of here, but the ol 2G only had 1/4 left after using up a 1/4 tank trying to find a place to fill up with nothing found. How are things going up there with this disaster going on down here? I heard from father that gas is suppose to sky rocket up there to around $5 a gallon. If i could even get gas, I would probably pay that if not more to even get some. It's that bad, very hard to believe, but true. Just decided I would post in here to update everyone on what's going on in my new neck of the woods.

Re: Hurricane Rita

Keep a journal going on here to keep us updated! It would be very cool to have some first hand info coming in. We just had our own little hurricane on Wed.

Re: Hurricane Rita

I sure hope I can. We are probably going to lose electricity within the next day for who knows how long. I hope to God that it won't be gone for long or else we are kind of screwed with food. Most of our food has to be heated or kept cold. We have a loaf of bread that I can eat lol. I'll try to keep you guys posted on what's up.

On another note, I did hear about a tornado that came through North Minneapolis and I guess did a pretty descent amount of damage. Can anyone give me more details about that?

Re: Hurricane Rita

The tornado was an F2, and went through part of Andover and Blaine/Coon Rapids area, along with straight line winds. Many, many homes were completely destroyed, among others with damage. Many other suburbs had damange due to high winds and big hail. I think there is a thread showing some pics (storm pics? I think).
