Bad Gas Stations

I know we have had a few threads on where the best place is to get race gas and the cheapest ect. But I don't believe we have really discussed where the bad places are to go. And since most of our cars really depend on octane and gas quality I thought it might be benificial.

I usually use BP Amoco if I can but recently I got some from the station on Silver Lake Rd off of 694 and it was shit. My can knocked and pulled timing under boost right after I got gas from there. This was the first time I ever got gas from there. I am starting to think its hit or miss whether you are going to get a good tank of gas or not, and it varies from station to station even if its the same brand.

So lets here some other stations that we might want to shy away from.

Re: Bad Gas Stations

I used to work at a gas station and heard when they are putting more gas into the big tanks, that it is bad to get gas. Since the sediments are getting mixed up with the force of the new gas. And that its bad for your car?
just something i thought i would throw out there.

Re: Bad Gas Stations

This is not just for race gas but I will never get Kwik Trip gas in anything I own. Parents lost 2 boat motors and a snowmobile motor to Kwik Trip gas. Also my uncle had his gas tank freeze up on him twice from Kwik Trip gas. They say that they gaurantee the gas wont harm your vehicle but when it does they make up stupid excuses and get off scotch free. Bastards!

As for race gas... I get mine from Severson Oil Company here in Winona. Little over $9 a gallon for 119.

Re: Bad Gas Stations

I'll agree with the Kwik Trip comment. When my friends and I had snowmobiles we had nothing but problems with Kwik Trip gas.

Seriously, race gas in Owatonna doesn't even cost that much.

Re: Bad Gas Stations

SA is junk gas too. The only stuff decent is if you happen to find one that has the 92 octane, non ethanol. That seems to be about the same as BP 92.

Re: Bad Gas Stations

I think that even if its BP Amoco 92 that you could still have trouble if they don't take good care of their tanks or if it doesn't get sold enough. Thats what I was kinda wondering, if anybody got their normal brand of gas at one place and it was good and the next station it was shit.

Re: Bad Gas Stations

There are two BP's near me, one on Robert St, and one on kind of a side road. The one on Robert I always have luck with in regards to their 92 octane. But with the one on the side road, I have problems with the 92 octane there. I am assuming that since it is kind of out of the way for the general highway traffic, that the 92 doesn't move that fast therefore sitting around longer and effecting the performance in my car. Just my theory, but I usually stay away from that station unless I absolutely have to.
