This can probable get heated depending on values of members so if you care to discuss this please be open to everyones opinions.

Personal I agree with the husband wanting to let his wife pass away. She's been in a vegitative state since 1990 and will never have a normal life. Her parents want to have the feeding tube put back in. Doesn't look like this will happen and she will die in a week or so now. I think this is best so she can be at peace. I'd want the same for myself.

To me its a lose lose situation. She can either live in the state she is living (which to me is not a good one). Or she can starve to death. I really dont know which choice I would want. There should be a way other than starving to death which she can pass away faster, like lethal injection or something. I mean if people can rule to starve them selves to death legally why not just end it faster and less painfully.

That is the way I would want it, fast and over with. Your life is really not worth living in a state like she is in.

Actually I think by her starving it's the more peacefull and safe way for her to go. She is brain dead and the feeding tube is the only reason why she is alive. By starving to death she passes on in a more normal/clean state. To me I see it as the only thing she needs before she dies now. Let her die naturally. Either way she does pass on she will not feel anything.

I can speak first hand experience on this one and i agree with the decision that was made. It's one of the roughest decisions that anyone will ever have to make. It's one you never get over, you just learn to live with it.

My family had to make pretty much the same decision with my grandfather.Laying in bed not being able to move or anything is not living, and if you can't live you may as well be dead.But after seeing videos of her respond to her family touching her, I would have to agree starving her to death is not the best option

This is a difficult decision to make, and the right one was made imho. You have to remember how they wanted to be remembered, and how they wanted to live. It can be very hard at times for people to let go of loved ones.
