Hey everyone, i have a 1992 eclipse RS. I just got rims and tires, my brakes redone, and im about to get a new clutch, exhaust, paint job, wing, bumper/grill. I need help figuring out things i can do to make my car unique. Basically, i want a 2g and i need to sell this for like 3 grand. It got a new timing belt at 133k, engine and tranny is nice.. 143k miles.. I am thinking about doign some interior work. Ideas? thanks

if your going for style/show than yes a 2g would be the way to go. For a body kit i have no idea i personally hate all body kits except the 97-98 ones which i have on my car. They look great. I'm sure people on here have more ideas but i would stick with the clean looking 2g 97-98 body kit.

Go with a drift kit, pretty much the only clean lookin kit on 1gens...not worth modding it though 2 sell it, to buy a kit, have it painted and installed perfectly so its not cheaply hung on will cost ya like 1000-2000, so u'll just lose money on that transaction if ur selling...

The drift kit is pretty oh snap. ALL body kits on 1gs are of bad taste. Whoever buys a 1g to make it a show show car is outta their mind. The best looking and tasteful to 90% of the crowd 1g's are usually just CLEANl Less is more in the long run.

I think you better re-think that dollar amount for the car. Even a good running AWD Eclipse/Talon 1g hardly fetches more than $3000. An RS would go for even less. We bought Terina's 92 Talon AWD for $3300 and it only had 92,000 miles on it. The car is immaculate (barring some minor mechanical problems, small oil leak) inside and out. I would guess with the amount of miles you have on it you won't get more than $2000, if even that. Especially if you put alot of bling on it. Contrary to popular belief, most of that stuff (wings, exhaust, rims, etc.) actually devalues a vehicle of that age.

If you are serious about show, keep your 1g as stock as possible, clean it up REAL good and sell it for what you can. Then go and buy a decent 2g and play with that. The reason being, there is alot more available for 2g's than there is for a 1g. The cost is considerably less to do it that way because the market is so flooded with dress-up things for 2g's. Otherwise you have to do everything custom and that is very costly.

I do applaud you for wanting it to be unique, but please do it tastefully.

Thanks for the tips.. i was thinkin exhaust ( buddy can buy the piping, and install for 100$) Different bumper (other than stock) Nice clean paint job, with some matching floormats, seatcovers, and stearing wheel cover) i didnt mean SERIOUS mods like bodykits. I just need to clean it up really nice, and make it very appealing, because anyone that knows anything knows that a 92 RS has a 1.8 n/t and that is OBVIOUSLY too ghetto fabulous to make fast or extra showy.. thanks for you help guys.. anymore would be appreciated!
