Clutch problem

Does anyone know much about the clutch master cylinder? I was driving my car home from work today and when I was almost home I went to downshift and the clutch went straight to the floor and stayed there. It looks like some fluid came out of it but I can't tell where from. Is there something that is common that happens to them and if there is a way to fix it or to just replace it.

You probably blew a seal out. Usually there will be fluid on the part of the master cylinder by the pedals. It may have cracked or something if it went that fast. I would just replace it. Craig put a Luke in his car and it seems to be doing well. I usually go with Mitsu if it is a car that you are planning on keeping.

The Luke one was half the price of the Mitsu one. That is why I went with the Luke. For the time it takes to change one, I didn't care if I had to buy another one in six months or a year. It took a total of about 20 minutes to install it, thats with bleeding the clutch myself too.

I think I got the clutch master from Pep Boys in Inver Grove Heights. It was 53 dollars or something like that. The Mitsu one was 113 dollars when I called.

Ok, now I replaced the slave cylinder but I can't get any clutch pressure to build up. Before I replaced it it had leaked fluid out of the slave cylinder but now it won't build anything. I even took out the bleeder screw and there wasn't even any fluid there. I don't know what else could cause this unless somehow it could of gotten plugged but I doubt it.

Would anyone else have any ideas?
