its one of 3 local dragstrips, about 40 min from me. it was Import vs Domestic night, which goes on from 9pm to 2am.

i'll make this short and sweet..

bunch of gay cars, import and otherwise of course, (1) 1g throwing fireballs with each shift running 14.5s, and (1) 2g fwd that ran an 11.2@125 which was quite good. there were 3 evos all running 11s, and one sounded like a honda (don't ask me how, it just did)

then they brough out the jet cars. these were these crazy top fuel looking things, except where there should have been a nitromethane gulping 500ci V8 there was a jet engine.

they roll these two cars out, one in each lane, over in the waterbox. then i began to hear the sound of the engines "spooling" but not ignited yet, just rrrreeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.......then ignition....BOOOOOMMM FWOOOOOOOOOOSHHHHHH!!!!! 30 ft flames in 5 sec bursts from each of them, and they just keep doing that alternating between them, FWOOSH x 123

they pull up to the line, brakes on, and up the rpm a bit. as high as they could go before they''d start pushing i imagine. they both stage, the lights drop and..

KABOOOOOOMMMMMM afterburners on full force, huuuge pillars of fire just shotting out the back of these things, and they both came off the line harder than any car i've ever seen in my life. which is odd because i thought they'd get fast at like half track, since they have no "traction" so to speak, they are just pushing air, not turning wheels.

as they pass by me i can feel the wave of heat smack me in the face, the ambiant air temp where i was had to jump by like 30 degrees as they passed by, it was nuts.

in the blink of an eye they are all the way down the track, and the lights flash up

5.87 and 5.82 @275mph......goood friggin lord

the announcer then points out that the water box is still boiling, i looked over to see he was right.

it was a great expierience, i'd love to see it again

and i realize they aren't as fast as say a top fuel car by any means, but it was pretty freaking good for some lil privateer cars
