Re: Iran and the "Deal"
Pretty amazing what the Iranian president said about the deal afterwords. What a mistake by Obama... Should not do any deals with a country that hates us. Not to mention the arab countries we are allies with all are opposed to this deal as well.

Re: Iran and the "Deal"
I agree. No wonder Obama wants to bypass Congress on this, because it'll be just like Obamacare, the Devil's in the details. And his bypassing Congress is an impeachable offense, not that anybody cares, right? The more that comes out the worse it will be.

Pretty much, much more shit for him to screw up with the time he has left. Not to mention Iran will still be able to make nuclear weapons under this deal. It will just take much more time. "The Nuclear deal is designed to limit the amount of Uranium that Iran can get access to, such that they can do low-level enriching for power generation and other peaceful activity, without having enough to build weapons for at least 10 years." Stolen from Reddit but i thought it was a good analysis but the real question is if they are honest with their intentions?? I wouldn't trust them.

Re: Iran and the "Deal"
By restricting the amount of uranium they have access to effectively shuts down the ability to create nuclear weapons.
The concentration of uranium required for a nuclear power plant is different then what's needed for an explosive.
Their current need and policy is to increase their power generation as their public/infrastructure is in dire need. The uranium they have access to will have to go to this cause, as they are spending billions on building new plants for increased capacity.
I work in the Nuclear Energy sector. By opening up their programs/country to oversight, we are better of then having them do whatever they do without anyone around at all.
Anything can be spun in any direction anyone wants based on their own beliefs. That seems like what politicalstyle is all about these days.

Re: Iran and the "Deal"
I'm just saying in the event over 10 years it could potentially have enough to create a nuclear weapon if it doesn't get used for what they say is all. I think the oversight is limited and doesn't allow inspectors into military bases though? So even if they were trying for weapons we wouldn't know. Just some things about the deal that make you ask questions.

They'd have or build them regardless?

Maybe? But, must not be too easy to get their hands on uranium if this deal is in question?

They can, but long range is not intercontinental. So ask your self, "What would Iran need ICBMs for?" All of their supposed enemies are on the same continent. They're not going to point them at Russia or China.

Re: Iran and the "Deal"
Having an arsenal is what all country's do when trying to establish themselves again. Who doesn't have insane weapons in their aresenal? This world could end a thousands of times over with the explosives held by countries. The actual risk of one being launched is low. Fear is a tactic that's been used for all of history, and it will not stop. Since the last time major explosives were used, the likelihood of it happening again, outside of a major world war are slim. If we are in that situation, all bets are off anyway, as many countries could end the world if they wanted to. No need to worry about icbm's or nuc's in general imo.

True, but there is a difference depending on who has them. Iran keeps the "Death to America" out in the open, even after this "deal", so wouldn't it be reasonable that some crazy religious fanatics could launch them our way? It's not completely out of the possibility.

Re: Iran and the "Deal"
Lets not forget, they get 24 days notice before any inspection is allowed.
And even if they dont fire them themselves who's to stop they from selling or having them stolen.
Based on the absolute lack of control in that region.
Its pretty much like saying hey give Cuba back there nukes. Which based on obama's recent drive to open up negotiations with them. Im sure hell say its ok for them to have them as well with the decisions hes been making lately just seems like the trend
