Harry's Lap Timer is a TomTom GPS cradle, Kiwi Wifi (for ECU data), and the iPhone's internal camera. $225 setup vs $1k+ for something like the Traqmate.

$225 huh, I assume that works the same on the street if you wanted for say the rpm/speed? That'd be cool for street vids and drag...I might have to get it.

I'll prolly bug you about it eventually when I have a car again.

Afraid not. You have to have a defined track. The beeps that you hear now and then in the video denote waypoints. I can see what my speed was between various points on the track.
