Ok I have a where to go question. Radio install?

Ok I have this Pioneer dvd flip screen radio that I would like installed in my car. I have hooked up regular radio's in my cars but I have never hooked one of these flip screened radios and I really dont want to take the chance of screwing it up. I would also have to have the parking brake switch deleted (I already bought the cheat box for it) So is there any place I can take this to get installed in my eclipse???

Oh really, cool it just has that extra box that all the wires go to and I kinda got intimidated lol. Am I going to be able to run the factory amp? Thank you.

Mine didn't have any extra box. Is that for an external gps/navigation unit or something? Just don't hook up the parking brake wire and it will never be disabled. I'd also just use the internal amp on the deck.

the exrta box could also be the brain box. you can wire in the factory amp. you will just have to wire it in with the deck wiring

Amp usually requires a separate harness from what I've seen, generally uses the RCA ports as opposed to wiring in through the main harness.

Just buy the Metra harness that eliminates the stock amp.

You're kidding, right?

The amp eliminator harnesses lose the tweeters and destroy sound quality. If you like what effectively sounds like tweeters behind you and treble-less speakers on the doors, with no workaround, be my guest and do it. Unless you're installing another amp, that's the worst possible solution.

The DVD deck in my car has a separate box too. Super easy to install, not any more difficult than any other stereo I've ever done. The head unit for mine is just a spot to hold the screen, controls and to put the DVDs and CDs. The box controls everything. I just located that under my back seat and ran all the wires under the center console.

Just continue using the factory amp, or re-wire it all.

I vote rewire. But that's easy for me to say because the previous owner did all that for me, lol.
