I love to snowboard (free ride), been to Lake Tahoe twice. I can count on one hand how many times I've snowboarded in Minnesota in the past two years because going out west ruined me.

Re: So how many real skiers are on this forum?
I've snowboarded forever. Ridin the signature mark frank montoya nitro board. I love just free riding, but I'll never turn down a run down the park. I'm alright, but I'm no pro.
We should get a snowboarding/skiing trip organized this winter!
p.s. no i didnt fall in this pic

Been snowboarding for 5 years now I think, love it. But not MN or out east, both suck.
Scheides I'm giving up the targhee this year and going to big sky and bridger! I hope it's as much fun.

I've been snowboarding for about 6 or 7 years now, but I don't get out nearly as much as I'd like to.

Re: So how many real skiers are on this forum?
Let me know if their is a trip planned anywhere, I will be staying in Colorado near Dillon for most of the winter bumming it up. Good to see their are fellow powder hounds in this forum. Picture is at the top of baldy chutes between snow bird and Alta, BAD ASS! Schides, I like the pic, were you up on the gullyies to the left of the tram? Looks like good snow!

Yes sir! I've done everything there except for a-z chutes and the big couloir. My brother did the couloir when he was like 17 or 18, freaking nuts. I broke my wrist about 8 years ago in the gulleys, fell from about half-way down to about 50 feet above the top of the bowl. Face first. Over rocks. With no gloves on! I still have scars from that one
We've had some insane trips out there, two years ago it snowed 18" one day and like 9" the next day, absolute heaven. I normally will not go up on challenger because the ice reminds me of MN skiing, but those few days I did it nonstop. Even hiked up towards A-Z chutes once but w/o a beeper all we could do was the high section dumping into challenger and then peel off and go under that MASSIVE rock face down towards the triple chair that goes back up to the tram.
You NEED to get a set of these poles:
This year, new goggles (MASSIVE faceplant at about 45mph last run of the year last year):
And new skiis. Trying to find some pics I took, but the cores on my Rossies are SHOT. Too much rock hunting

Skiing tomorrow probably, just at Afton or something though, as a warm up for a week in Big Sky and Bridger Bowl in a few weeks.

Re: So how many real skiers are on this forum?
I have been skiing for 13-14 years. I raced slalom in High School.
I can't stand skiing in MN after being out west, so I haven't skied much the last couple of years. That and my boots are still my race boots I bought 7 years ago. Size 9 boots with a size 11 foot = fucking ouch.
