Good movies?

I just got done watching Alpha Dog and I am so flustered (in a good way)! Such a great movie, and the fact that it's based on real events makes it even better. I didn't think I'd be much of a fan because lover boy timberlake was in it, but it turned out to be really good. I thought the actors were surprisingly really great instead of some movies where singers decided they want to be actors and they really suck.

Another movie I saw recently is Hard Candy. Wow if you like weird messed up movies this is a great one. Great actors and the little girl in this movie is friggin amazing.

Anyways, I thought I'd be nice to know of some other good movies. So post up some of your faves or least faves. Reno 911 is up next in my dvd player and I'll let ya know how it is.

Re: Good movies?

I've seen Alpha Dog as well, I thought it was pretty good as well. Timberlake has surprised me with his acting, he's also pretty good in Black Snake Moan. Course with C Ricci being half naked for 1/2 the movie, it's going to be a good one.

Also just watched Apocalypto this weekend. First movie I've seen in a long time with sub titles, and I loved it. Great flick. Also saw Maxed Out this weekend, all that did was piss me off. It's all about Debt.

I'm looking forward to The Contract & Shooter to show up via Net Flix after they release.

I've always been a big fan of the shawshank redemption, if you feel like sitting through a long ass movie... I also really liked catch me if you can, derailed, and crash. That's all i got on the top of my head right now

Re: Good movies?

Timberlake is hard to hate. I dunno what it is, but that bastard has charisma.

Alpha dog was good. Hard Candy was fucked up, but good.

Brick is a good movie, similar feel to alpha dog.

The World's Fastest Indian is a fan fucking tastic movie about motorcycles on the bonneville salt flats.

Faster is a documentary about MotoGP motorcycle racing, and i'll be damned if that movie doesnt make you want to sell everything you have and buy a bike the next goddamn day.

The Fountain was really really good. I dont know if i've ever seen a movie with more depth and meaning than that.

Theres a movie at the Lagoon right now called Black Sheep. Its about genetically modified sheep that end up murdering people in new zealand, haha.

Re: Good movies?

Transformers was good like cher said. I guess if you weren't a fan as a kid when it was in the form of cartoons and badass action figures, it might not of been as apealing.

All of the die hards are good movies. I went to wallmart and bought 1-3 ( aftering seeing the 4th one in theatres) and watched them all again. I've seen them all over the years but now I really wish I saw then right before seeing Live free : or die hard.

Greenstreet hooligans - good movie, nothing in the world is similar
Family Stone - If you like awkward humor, there ya go

The Decent or Descent or whatever one is Dee-Scent. The one with the chicks that go into an un-explored cave and dick around. It's pretty scary none the less.

+ 1 for Black Snake Moan.

50 Nuts is great too (50cc MX Video)

God I rented this movie called Black Dahlia a few months ago, that was pure hell. Boring as hell and pissed me right the fuck off!! That and Blood Trails.

The Shooter is great, I had to watch it 3 times when I rented it. Ooh action FTW!!

Re: Good movies?

Dead Silence was a very creepy movie. I liked Alpa Dog but the ending pissed me off. I guess you get that baseing it off of a real life events. Black Snake Moan was awsome Sam Jackson is always a bad ass. Worlds Fastest Indian is one of my all time favorites.

Re: Good movies?

I saw shooter about a week ago and it was the best movie I had rented/bought all year. The ending was kind of...eh, but plenty of action from 10 min into it throughout the rest of the movie.

Re: Good movies?

Shooter was good. Lots of action and conspericy theory. Black Dahlia was pretty boring. Scarlett Johansons always good to watch though. I thought that Desent was pretty shitty though. Those Chickes were dumb and deserved what thaey got.

Re: Good movies?

I'm sorry, shooter was crap. I mean, it was watchable for some decent action, but it was a poor script, poorly acted and directed. Just not good. I saw an advanced screening of it and was glad the tickets were comp.

Re: Good movies?

Alpha dog was really good I thought as well, the ending happened so fast that it almost like took my breathe away.

American History X is a pretty good movie I thought. Same with Movies like The Breakfast Club and Dazed and Confused.

Casino Royale was also good I thought
