Question Engine Stand Question

Hi guys- I'm removing the motor out of the GSX this weekend. I want to put it up onto the engine stand once it's out. The front/lower bell housing bolt hole on the block has a guide pin in it. Do you normally have to remove this or how do you get around it? I tried lightly with a pliers and it started to knurl it so i backed off.

Thanks for any help...

Re: Engine Stand Question

Well what I did was use the stock main bolts. I know for sure I used the two top tranny bolt holes. The other two I don't remember. Just try to find holes with the same thread pitch.

Actually, here's an old picture. You just thread the bolt into the hole you mentioned.

Re: Engine Stand Question

The tranny dowel pin slides right into an engine stand arm.

Re: Engine Stand Question

Thanks guys... I ended up having to ream out the engine stand post thing with a drill. It wouldn't have fit otherwise. This is a home-made stand that I borrowed.
