Re: Launch in reverse!
I always though it would be funny to do that, but since i have seen the inside of my transmission i would never try that our reverse gear is way to weak.

There's a video of Shep doing something similar. His back wheels came off the ground.

It's been pulled from the original host server. It was only on NABR that I know of. He wasn't actually in reverse obviously, the engine died on a launch.

Re: Launch in reverse!
That must've been a hell of a launch to almost lift the back wheels.... I'm suprised the reverse gear was strong enough to hold

Re: Launch in reverse!
The worst I ever did was pull up to the tree, and for some reason my brain thought I was at a stoplight and put it into neutral. I was holding the revs about 5K when the tree went green and I tried to launch. Luckily I had the presence of mind to let off of the gas the split second I noticed it was in neutral. Funniest thing ever. Got a 2.43 reaction time on that one (time trials).
Nothing tops Tom's idea of a "Stoplight Race"!!!!!!

Re: Launch in reverse!
on a VW, reverse is to the left and up, just like 1st. only you have to push the shifter down. it's gay.

Re: Launch in reverse!
Lucky there was no one taking videos of my oh shit launch. LOL would have been funny to see all the numerous things that went really wrong with that race.
Me launching in reverse, the other car launching with its wheels cocked, and Matt diving over the hood of the other car. makes for some great stories.
