NEED TO BUY: 2g trany or total 6 bolt STALK swap
So my 2g transmission has taken a turn to the worst place possible and now I need a new one and soon. I need it to be in GREAT condition that has NO problems and as lowest miles as possible. When I replace my tranny I do not want any more problems.
I would also consider a total 6 bolt swap. I would need the whole engine, head and tranny. I would prefer it stock, not messed with at all, in great condition and once again with low miles.
I know I am being picky, but if I am going to put all this money into my car, which I am sure most of you will understand, I want it to run great and not have any problems. I am not going to build up my car to the extreme that is why I don’t mind stock items and would prefer them not to be messed with.
I have a 1999 AWD manual eclipse, so everything would need to work with that.
Let me know, I need it kind of soon since I have no car to drive.

Why did you stop using it, just upgraded or did a swap? How many miles do you think are on it? Is it for a manual?

I never said I was good and spelling and knowing the difference between words...but I do feel dumb for not noticing it, I'm just too upset and stressed to care. Since I need to barrow money from the rents for all of this, they are making things even harder.
Is everything better and too your liking? Too bad I cant change the title

Shep does a $900 rebuild... I wish I would have done that with my 98 GSX but I paid $2600 for a rebuilt tranny from AAMCO which I DO NOT recommend!

I am kind of thinking about this, but I guess its the case that needs to be replaced or something. No matter how many times MAP tells me, I still only know enough to remember something, but not it all. That is why I am going to go there tomorrow to look at it myself, so I will remember more. It was not my tranny that went bad, its my throughout baring or clutch fork or something that broke and then caused damage to the tranny.

You cannot use a 1G tranny in your car.

Re: NEED TO BUY: 2g trany or total 6 bolt STALK swap
I know you cant just use a 1g tranny, thats why I would need a whole swap. I'm leaning more towards just a 2g tranny.
95talonracer...any knows problems with the tranny? How many miles are on it, and how long has it just been sitting around.

Re: NEED TO BUY: 2g trany or total 6 bolt STALK swap
The bell housing needs to be replaced, and is around $500 from mitsu if I recall... As far as I know, shep buys new bells housings for situations like this, but I'm also not 100% sure on that one. If you were to do a 6 bolt swap Kate, you would still need to use a 2g transmission. The mounts to the chassis for the trans are 2g specific. Hope that helps you remember

^what a guy.
yes dear that is good for me, good thing your parents got money and you not like me, where you have to pay for shit 100% or if something breaks you get to fix it or wait and save.
MAP guys will take care of you.
Shep rebuild and you will probably love your car even more when you get it back.

Re: NEED TO BUY: 2g trany or total 6 bolt STALK swap
Well my parents are paying for it now, but I need to pay them back and its not like they are all that happy about it.
So since they are paying for it they want me to maybe get something that will have a warranty with it, does anyone know if a Shep rebuild has a warranty, if not I can always call and ask them.

Re: NEED TO BUY: 2g trany or total 6 bolt STALK swap
Sorry brando, she's jsut doing the 2g trans for now. Her parents don't want her to do a 6-bolt swap right now, as they don't think she needs it. Perhaps she will have me swap it out down the road, but at that time I'm sure I'll probably jsut give her my built motor when I build a new one.
